Here's where it gets interesting. Many people have remarked that my mod somehow makes ML work, and it does. But none of my code ever gets called by the time the crash happens. Out of curiosity, I took a clean /net/minecraft/client/Minecraft.class file and recompiled it using MCP with no changes. Zipped it into a mod, loaded it in ML and to my surprise, it worked! No changes, just a simple recompile and it works. Java 7 not necessary.
We now know four things:
1. Using the official launcher + unmodified Minecraft.class = success!
2. Using the official launcher + recompiled Minecraft.class = success!
3. Using MagicLauncher + unmodified Minecraft.class = failure...
4. Using MagicLauncher + recompiled Minecraft.class = success!
I ran a binary diff on the two Minecraft.class files and came up with nothing conclusive. There are way too many differences to track down.
After a cursory grep of the ML source, my programmer sense tells me that the problem is probably somewhere in /magic/launcher/ag.class where the process string is being built. I could probably figure out more if the source wasn't obfuscated, but whatever.
Anyway, sounds like one hell of a bug. Have fun with that.

FM DebugMod 1.2.5v1 - Fixes problems with F3 debugging graphs, restores entity labels, and strips down debug info (updated 2012-04-04)
Please make compatible with forge. I really just want it there for things like buildcraft and more.
You can already load Forge with this.
And, this not being a mod but a mod manager (and loader), it doesn't have mod incompatibilities. Mods may require a couple of extra steps to be taken such as extracting certain files to a certain location first. Or, the mod may require another mod (like Modloader) to be listed first. Or, the mod may not be in the root of the mod package like it currently needs to be and therefore requires being re-packaged first so that the mod is at the root of its zip file.
The one exception to this is GuiAPI. The reason isn't really due to an incompatibility but rather how GuiAPI works since it is built using a Themable Widget Library (TWL) which loads paths relative to the class calling it which in turn causes problems.
Also note, mods that require Modloader can also be loaded internally instead of having to put them in the mods folder instead.
when adding my mods to the list, forge says it has 2 problems, how does one find these problems
I get the same thing. Minecraft runs just fine and all mods are working normally as near as I can tell, but Magic Launcher says a given mod has "2 errors" in yellow text, specifically to OptiFine HD_B. I can't find a way of getting Magic Launcher to tell me exactly what those errors are, however. Adjusting load order doesn't seem to do much of anything.
Again, there don't seem to be any problems as Minecraft runs fine and I'm still able to use all of OptiFine HD_B's features (and I get the enormous framerate increase as usual - thanks OptiFine team!), and I haven't had any crashes. It'd just be nice to see why Magic Launcher's telling me there are errors.
EDIT: Guess I should add, I've updated the LWGJL (or whatever the damned letter order was) files by reading the main OptiFine thread, and the operating system is Windows XP 32-bit.
This happens when I hit setup and the move up and down buttons for the mods. It still seems to instal my mods fine and everything though, so right now it's just a major annoyance. Can anyone tell me what I may have done wrong? XD
Edit: Wow, ignore that. Not sure what I did, but I don't get the problem anymore. Might have had something to do with the things I had open. -Shrug-
Works great again, looking forward to the updates!
I'm getting the exact same error after a fresh install. Here's hoping you can fix this, but with the 1.2.5 snapshot coming out, that might change a lot of stuff.

Hey, I have a quick question. I am using MagicLauncher 0.9.7 and I have added OptiFine to the mod section and everything comes up ok. No errors or anything. But when I got to install a texture pack called Soartex Fanver this is what I do:
1. Download the texture pack
2. Put texture pack in texture pack section in the .minecraft folder located at %appdata%
3. Download MCPatcher
4. Run the MCPatcher and patch minecraft with everything except Better Grass
5. Load up Magic Launcher and see that there are now 5 errors. Along with saying that the minecraft.jar says Modified! 1.2.4
Im a little stuck and cant play minecraft with OptiFine and a TP? I dont know if its just the TP or what but i need help!

MCPatcher is NOT needed for HD textures, HD fonts and BetterGrass, they are included in OptiFine.
Also, from throughout this thread, Magic Launcher will not work with a patched minecraft.jar file.
I have loved the use of this launcher, it is the ONLY launcher to really work with probably 99% mods. I love it so much. I have been very deprived since the 1.2.3 update, and magic launcher no longer working for mac. I have scanned the forum and not seen a solution, maybe i missed it, or if i just have to wait, I pray it gets updated soon!

The next version will have a fix for the Mac problems. However I do not know when it will be finished.
There are several possible solutions, one of them is to install Forge with the required base mods (ModLoader and ModLoaderMP), then all should work.

This is a signature, you put stuff in here, just letting you know
Hello there, first off I would like to say great work and thank you for Magic Launcher, makes my life a whole lot easier when managing my mods. Unfortunately, I'm receiving the following error in the log. Fortunately, despite the errors I'm still able load mods and play Minecraft normally. I hope this log helps in someway to resolve this error. Thanks again.

This is amazing. I had a few trial and errors with soe other mods, but instlling mods on this is the simplest thing ever. Even easier than Mycraft. Although some mods still need to be done manually (Such as Minecolony) But other than that its looking good. Can't wait to play on my SpaceCraft, Zepplin, Minecolony, type mod pack

If anyone has found a way to make Zombe's Mod with this Launcher, please post your method. Thanks!
You have to move (only) the class-files within the zip-file to a new zip-file AND move all the txt-files within the original zip to .minecraft/mods/zombe. I don't use Zombe but i had no problem to install it and play. I just followed the instructions in the "readme.html" from the Zombe's_modpack-v-6.1_MC.zip
