It works exactly as the normal launcher. If the server is down, then it allows offline play. Or you can go in Setup and click Test to test minecraft in offline mode.

Ahh, I tested this a different way: with the normal launcher, you can just empty the password field and hit login. The login will fail, then you have the option to play offline (even if the server isn't really down). With Magic Launcher, I see only "Try again" and "Details" options if login fails.
This is an masterpiece ( and even bigger than MinecraftSL , the launcher I am working on ) of launching Minecraft . I wanted an mod loader implemented in MCSL too but never could combine the launcher and the game ... nevermind , I think I will soon quit MCSL or do an pause because of you showing you are one of the coding gods and I ( again ) am an noob at coding ...

A suggestion maybe... A feature to resize your Minecraft window for recording purposes?
You don't record the launcher window - once you login the launcher disappears and is replaced a normal, gui-dependent Minecraft window (i.e. the launcher is replaced by the game window).
Unless you want to make a review - in that case you have a point if you want to upload in HD.
I believe this launcher would be a better choice than MCpatcher, however, I am incapable of using it. I have to use a batch file to open Minecraft, otherwise I get an error and can't play. I get the same error when I try to play through MagicLauncher, and therefore cannot use ML. Any ideas of what I can do?

Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.
This is no problem when I run the batch:

Creating/deleting profiles don't work (I'm sure you already know that, but just in case)
I can't uncheck anything in the 'external mods' section. I threw optifine in my ~/.minecraft/mods folder and I don't plan on installing modloader at all.
Lastly, I'd like to know what that checkbox is supposed to say.

I love MagicLauncher but how is it working without making a temporary jar file? I ask because there are certain mods that check the jar (somehow) to verify if the mod has actually been put in the jar and not in the mods folder. I also ask because my log says this when I try to use Mo' Explosives

You can manually install mods in minecraft.jar and patch it with patchers and then use the launcher to run the game.
Of course loading other mods will not longer work with the patcher minecraft.jar.

See the screenshot in OP. The other things are ok. External mods can not be disabled yet.
