Does the "command-line options" listed in the poll refer to allowing users to pass command line arguments to the Magic Launcher or does it refer to adding an option in the Magic Launcher to specify command line arguments to be passed to Minecraft? If it's the latter, will users be able to pass custom arguments or will all of the available arguments be provided in the interface?
I would very much like the Magic Launcher to allow me to pass custom command line arguments to Minecraft. Forge supports an argument that allows the user to specify which mods to load, which is handy for managing mods without renaming files (which is how I think the Magic Launcher does it now):
--mods "mod1.jar,mod2.jar,mod3.jar"
Currently, I have to modify my copy of the Magic Launcher to include support for custom arguments, so it would be nice if the ability were included with the Magic Launcher.
this is a fake it still give you problems. it keeps giving me problems because you need forge to use the mods on here when i installed forge but the mods are not noticing it
I always had trouble finding the logs when I'm using Magic Launcher. There are no logs written in my .minecraft/logs folder whenever I use Magic Launcher. Are there just no minecraft logs written or there is something wrong on my side.... Please help, logs are important to me. I kept using vanilla launcher for this reason.
Someone please help me i installed magic launcher and optifine to my minecraft and it works great in single player but when i try to get in a multiplayer server it says "Username contains invalid characters" please help. Thanks in advance.
I dont think this is even getting updated anymore?
Look at the front page, 1.3.1 is pretty recent.
Hey sp614x, do you know if Overwolf is compatible with the launcher by changing some settings or adding an argument? I know it works with the Vanilla launcher, and I was hoping to use it to record the game without having to buy or get some other non-integrated program.
It keeps crashing partway through the load! I want to play but I makes it to pre-initialization and crashes. Here is the report
A detailed walkthrough of the error, its code path and all known details is as follows:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Been using Magic Launcher for years, never had any issues - went to pick up Minecraft again but started getting an error when trying to login. It's fairly short so I'll just paste it here.

It seems to me that I'm missing Java update 45 which is what it doesn't like. I have updates 31 and 60 in the Java program files folder though, is there any way to make Magic Launcher pick update 60 to use instead of 45? Copying 60's folder and renaming it to 45 let me log in, but then I couldn't connect to any servers, it just displays "couldn't find server". I know it's not my internet connection cause I can see that they're online when I use the vanilla launcher.
Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: Well, I messed around with things some more and figured out a fix even if I don't know how it happened in the first place. Deleting/renaming the MagicLauncher.cfg file in AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/magic fixes it. This deletes all your mod configurations but at least it works I guess.
Thanks, this helped a little, but I can only get magic launcher to work with vanilla minecraft. Not with forge. When I log in with my forge version, it just closes the window and minecraft never loads
Why does it say "no mods found" after some of the mods in the list?
I downloaded MagicLauncher 1.3.1 on my w10 computer, but keep getting the error "McVersion: not found"

Can you post a screenshot of where this is? It sounds like your putting mods that would be considered "external" in the "internal" area. Optifine and small mods are internal and can be added with the buttons on the right, but some mods are bigger and need to be added to a folder in your .minecraft folder

After forge version 11.14.1.1375, i have found that Magic Launcher will no longer work. This is due to forge not creating a jar file along with the usual json file. If there is a fix for this, that would be great!

Could this be part of the reason why you're having an issue? What version forge are you using?

First of all tjanks fpr the greate Program.
It's verfiy nice and realy easy to use, espaculy for integrate Mods.
Now i think i have found a Bug or else (i use Version 1.3.1), cause by loging in with a password that begins with a sign (like $; § or esle) there is no login.
Signs in the password senms to have not the problem, else by beginning with on.
The detail by Magiclauncher shows the Error 400 on the Loginserver, but if i login with the same password on the normal minecraft-launcher the game will starts with an error.
I left instructions on page noted below , also look at the reply above , about unblocking magic launcher and other exe files

go to my website at https://game-adventure.weebly.com/
to find cool things.
1. making mods that means coding because you need to know how to code to make mods.

Maybe you should upgrade to Java 8...
What Linux Distro you're using?
I'm a Linux user too, so maybe I've got some info that could help you

went into magic launcher "setup". Found the minecraft.jar file in %appdata%/.minecraft/versions
Then, I Changed the "environment" to 1.8.8
Game starts!

can you make the launcher run in java 8 since minecraft is moving to java 8 and make it pretty
or make it so we can have different themes so it looks nice not being mean
After forge version 11.14.1.1375, i have found that Magic Launcher will no longer work. This is due to forge not creating a jar file along with the usual json file. If there is a fix for this, that would be great!
A screenshot would really help here, what folder are the mods located in in the .minecraft folder?
