THIS ... ROCKS!!! Awesome work as always sp614x! One of the things that I like about this "launcher/mod manager," in contrast to something like the MyCraft launcher, is that mods apparently don't need to be developed directly for this launcher in order for automatic compatibility checks between mods. But, would you please go into some detail about the difference between the "Mods" and "External Mods" sections? Am I correct in thinking that the "External Mods" section is for mods needing to rely on one of the mods in the normal "Mods" section? ~ iiiHuman ~
The normal Mods are the mods which are usually put in minecraft.jar.
The "External Mods" are the ModLoader mods located in directory "mods", they need ModLoader in order to be loaded.
ModLoader mods may be loaded as normal or external. They will work in both ways if there is a ModLoader.
Auto lwjgl updating (or at least some method to get the latest/specific versions of it). It'd help a ton with performance and other issues while making changing lwjgl versions easy.

Just your friendly, neighborhood /r/Minecraft mod.
Seconded. This really needs to be able to point towards a 64-bit Java installation, or the memory field is useless.
The MagicLauncher uses the default Java which is installed on the computer. If it is 64bit then it will use it.
Future versions will add the possibility to select which java to use and passing of custom parameters to java.

It doesn't seem to work properly. If I have both 32-bit and 64-bit installed, it will only use 32-bit. I uninstalled both, installed 64-bit and it worked brilliantly. Once I installed 32-bit again, it went back to defaulting to 32-bit.

Why would you have botch 32-bit and 64-bit Java installed at the same time?
Another thing that would be pretty nice, is if you just let the file name of the launcher to be MagicLauncher.jar. I use a bash script to run the file, and if you update I have to update my bash file every time. The version number is showing up in the launcher itself already.

bc like google chrome only uses 32bit java.............. Even java site says that you might need both 32bit and 64bit for some program's on a 64bit computer

Amazing, but I don't like how it is a .jar. I cannot run it on Steam. Although, I have a Mac. He would probably make an exe. I should shut up. :mellow.gif:
Normally, I wouldn't use one of these because I've used a bunch before and they never seem to work right. But, since you've made optifine and compatibility with forge, I'm gonna try it out :smile.gif:

Hmm not for me, somebody was wondering if he could use it for an off-line version of minecraft. "as in illegal"(:
No, those have not been implemented yet, if you read the entire post in the "To-Do" list is a list of things he needs to add, this is one of them.
Also sp614x if you could fix or help us fix the cause of Command Prompt opening up quickly & closing, because it doesn't launch minecraft?

One request: option for 64-bit java.
EDIT: Also, it doesn't work with zombe's (needs config files in mods folder, classes in root folder of zip, etc.)

Because Java is used for things other than Minecraft, and 32-bit is still needed for a lot of applications.
You could grep "MagicLauncher".
