I have been using Magic Launcher for the past couple of weeks with great results, but now I'm having an issue. The college I go to blocks minecraft.net, so I have to play offline. This has been working fine until today. I opened up Magic Launcher, clicked "play", then clicked "play offline". Magic Launcher did it's usual thing where it closes and then Minecraft is supposed to open, but this time Minecraft didn't open. I restarted my computer, re-downloaded the launcher, etc., but nothing worked. Nothing on my computer changed (as far as I know) before it stopped working. I have not tested it at my house were I can play online yet, so I'm hoping that will fix it. I would appreciate any suggestions and help. Thanks!
I would like to point out that the download page on your website for Magic Launcher doesn't work on Firefox. My version is 9.0.1
I have an adblocker, but I disabled it for the page, and it still didn't work.
However, it does work on Google Chrome and Chromium.
Everything seems to be the same between Chrome and Firefox, except that in Firefox, when I click the link after it appears, it produces a single page saying 'Internal Server Error', without downloading the file.
It is if you set it to fast graphics. (you can still turn trees and stuff back to fancy.) There are a couple graphical bugs like item perimeters and side grass not obeying biome colors though.
On topic, this launcher is incredible. Java parameters actually work and mods are so much easier to install.
Tried testing with the Portal Gun Mod, which I could never get to work before. However, it appears to not take any effect on my game when I click "test". Everything else seems to work fine (I am seeing some errors in the log but they don't appear to effect anything). I do know there are some ID conflicts which I can fix when I make this work, but that doesn't appear to be the problem here. It literally just isn't loading the mod. What's going on, and how can I fix it?

Nice launcher. Thank you for adding multiple configurations (this is version 0.9.2). :smile.gif:
I am getting errors when the launcher is loading minecraftforge-client-1.3.1.zip. Two error if installed before OptiFine and 21 errors if installed after OptiFine .
I initially had two different versions of minecraftforge-client in the same folder and unintentionally added both and observed that the errors went away when the second copy was installed. So I conducted an experiment and installed 4 identical copies of minecraftforge-client-1.3.1.zip as shown below.
I got the following errors in the LOG.

I have seen some of these errors in other post, but could could not find a post explaining the errors.
OptiFine is your mod. Do your recognize some of the failing public class members as ones that might be in conflict with those of OptiFine?
What is causing the errors?
If you can't identify problems in your code, should I post this information on the minecraftforge forum (but the 1st two errors are before minecraftforge is installed :huh.gif: )?
Why do the errors go away when a mod in installed a second time?
Is installing a mod twice a workaround to fix the errors or is it going to cause some other problem?

Do you think you could add the ability to rename configurations, like the default one?
moldy912,
I renamed the default configuration by editing the .CFG file. The game and files are on my son's computer, so this might be incorrect. But, I believe there was a magiclauncher folder in the .minecraft folder that contained a default.cfg file. I changed the file type to .txt. Edited the file changing the name and restored the .cfg file type.
Make a backup copy of the .cfg file before attempting this.
I also did some copying of a text blocks and a search and replace, when editing the file, to replicate the original configuration. But, do not attempt this if you don't understand the begin and end of block markers of a configuration.

You should not install multiple versions of Forge or any other mod, this can only cause problems.
Forge 1.3.0 has 2 known errors (warnings), but otherwise it works fine.
Optifine should be installed last.
For some reason this installer doesn't play well with GuiAPI. Whenever I try to open the In Game GUI for it, the game crashes and shows this:
...
java.lang.RuntimeException: GuiAPI has detected that it was not installed directly into the minecraft jar as required. If you are trying to use a mod manager such as MyCraft, or you are trying to use Modloader's mods folder, this would cause this issue. Please install directly into the minecraft jar in order for GuiAPI to work correctly.
at GuiWidgetScreen.getInstance(GuiWidgetScreen.java:53)
at GuiModScreen.setActive(GuiModScreen.java:157)
...
It says its not installed, and the Installer shows it as Active with 0 Errors. Is there any way to fix this? Its quite annoying not being able to edit any of the Mo' Creature's Settings.
The mod is explicitely checking if it is installed inside the minecraft.jar.
MagicLauncher is not modifiyng minecraft.jar so it can not put it inside.
Whatever I do I cannot get The Twilight Forest mod to work through your launcher. It works if I install the mods through MCPatcher and I presume manually. Can you please advise?
The only problem I see with having different configurations (with different minecraft.jar files), is that if you start the game without any mods for example, all the options you have from like OptiFine, and all the controls that are for mods, will get reset/removed. And when you start the game with mods again you will have to change all the settigns and controls again.
I believe when you start MC without any mods, the options.txt file is somehow reset?

Yes, Minecraft just overwrites the options.txt with the current known values. I could fix OptiFine to preserve the unknown options, but vanilla will always do it.

It works fine for me.
1. Start with a clean minecraft.jar (1.1)
2. Add ModLoader (1.1)
3. Add ModLoaderMp (1.1)
4. Add AudioMod (1.1)
5. Add twilightforest1.6r2.zip
6. Enjoy.

A bit offtopic, but what about making Optifine save its own options in a separate file than options.txt?
