Force Update
Rename your mods folder mods2.
Open Magic start over with adds, Forge first, optifine last.
You might also try downloading Forge again, your might be bad.
What version of Forge does ClaySoldiers say you need? Sometimes the latest version of Forge won't work!
Hello! This works great for some mods, but I am having problems with three.
I get the error message "You have mod sources that are duplicate within your system" for CustomSpawner, MoCreatures and Gui.API.
I do not get this message for any other mods. In the error log it says I have two copies of the zip in the mod folder, but I only have one. Can anyone help?
I am having the same issue, would love to hear a response
There shouldn't be any Mods in the mods folder. Putting one there and adding it to Magic gets it installed twice, Without a .jar installed ModLoader anything in the mods folder probably won't be properly installed regardless.
This comes up when I try to log in:MagicLauncher 1.0.0

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Plz help I cant log onto minecraft
Looking at this I can see 3 problems
1) 'Magic couldn't connect to http://notch.tumblr.com/rss'
2) 'Minecraft version: not found'
3) 'Error occurred during initialization of VM, Could not reserve enough space for object heap'
& you say you couldn't log into Minecraft....
Firstly, connection problems to Minecraft etc MAY be caused by the server actually being down
Could you log in with the official Launcher OK ?? - if not, good chance it was the server being down.
However 'Notch Tumblr' I THINK is one of the News servers... so perhaps that was down, in which case - deselect the [News] options in Magic prevents it from attempting to connect to all the news servers (gets Magic to start up a little quicker as well)
Second.. 'Minecraft version not found'...
Not sure about this not seen it before, but what version of Minecraft are you trying to run ??
I would've guessed 1.4.6 or 1.4.7 (based on the MOD you're trying to use) - but no version number ??
Makes me think you have a modified minecraft.jar or Magic cannot find it.. is the path to it correct ??
Third, 'Could not reserve memory' - this USUALLY means that you've assigned too much memory to Minecraft & do not have enough memory to run JAVA. I see you've assigned 1024Mb to minecraft - how much memory does your PC have ???
Don't forget - that not only have you got to run the operating system [in your case - Vista], but Minecraft AND JAVA all together.
If you have an integrated graphics card this will also take up some of the memory of the PC as well
minecraft usually only need 512Mb to run (a little more for each mod added & HD textures) so try lowering the amount assigned to Minecraft...
EDIT - Just looked up 'error 450' for webpage access. this is apparently the code given for 'Blocked by Windows Parental Controls (Microsoft)'. Have your parents switched this on to restrict your access to the internet ??
Not an important error, and I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this or if it should be like this, but I noticed that the "latest" version reported in the Magic Launcher options says "0.9.8", when the current version is, like the options state, "1.0.0".
I recommend this whenever relevant. Can anyone give me a good sig for it? I can't find them.could you make a server version, like u choose server.jar instead of minecraft and than you can add mods and than run the server?
Did you ignore the error and try to open MC?
Do the "mods not found" work once MC is open?

Not really sure what is going wrong but I think it has to do with my internet and NOT the launcher
I think it's a great idea and that the ToDo list is awesome, but I think it would also be great if one could "sort" the saves to only show up with the settings it was created with og at least so that one can choose which settings are allowed to show the save. I don't like the Idea of loading a world where some mods have been used, without having any mods active, so to not screw stuff up accidentally, it would be a nice feature to have. ^^
+1, & I've just had a look at the 'To Do' - can't see 'Texture pack per profile' on the list
I STILL like to have that option to allow you to choose which texture to use for a particular Profile...
Saves having to keep changing it in-game depending on whether I'm doing Redstone, checking out a 'Snapshot' (i.e HAVING to use 'default as Optifine not updated for it etc) or normal 'Gameplay'
It seems that I cant use x64 bit java with this launcher! I really want to up the ram allocated to 5GB but I need to be running x64.. anytime I run it on x64 it displays "create process error=740"
works perfectly on x86.. Can anyone help me out with this!?
it's just an idea but i think it would be great to make a magic launcher for mc servers so you can mod them easily. It would be very helpful to the people that have trouble modding servers and it would make it easier to switch servers
I cannot connect to the internet and play online with it. Here is the error log.

So why post it here if you think it's not the launcher
But seriously - yes it does look like something is blocking your internet access - you have a lot of
Address is invalid on local machine, or port is not valid on remote machine
Can you use the normal launcher to log in ??
If so - try disabling the [News] option in magic (That's what all those web addresses are) & see if it still gets blocked....
If it still does, but the official launcher is not blocked... is it possible that your firewall/antivirus hasn't been 'told' to allow Magic internet access ??
I know that Kaspersky can 'block' magic for some reason - even when disabled - the only solution found was to actually EXIT kaspersky, logon & THEN restart Kaspersky (This is the post I did earlier about it)
I also know that certain Windows versions have 'advanced Security' & that seems to affect Magic somehow - it may be something about IPv6 addressing or something like that (See this post)
The person never got back to say if the tip in the post I found actually worked ('vm argumnet -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true') so I still don't know if the problem was fixed or if it actually works

Thanks for helping me out. I only have one question.
How do I "exit" Kaspersky? Is there a button that logs me off of it or something?

I honestly don't know (I'm guessing YOU are using Kaspersky then)
- A google search however shows that you 'Right click on the taskbar icon & select Exit'
This shows how to for 2011 - I guess it's similar for other versions
