I saw this and didn't like the fact that you couldn't make it in 3D so I made my own that all you have to do is set specific coordinates and right click a block and it will generate the code.
Cool, mind showing me? or link to your thread if you have one! ;D
Yeah I wish I knew how to make something 3d like that...
Well if you have a very good tool then I might not continue with this one...

Well that's why I came to you, so you could put it in your thread if you wanted to. It's basically in minecraft and you build your house or what not, then you measure how big the house is and put in specific details such as:
xWidth = 7;
Then you would place this new block down and it would find 7 blocks on the x axis, half to the left, half to the right. You can also change these:
yHeight = 10;
zWidth = 42;
You put in the specifications and then it generates the code. Blocks that require orientation you will have to do your self.

I actually had the same idea, but thought it would be hard...
Hey, this toolis great! Thanx so much dude! I do have one request/suggestion though. Could you add .schematic importing? Like you do File>Import>MCEdit schematic and you choose the one to use, then it creates the layers?
Lemme know this would increase the number of downloads dramatically as well.
any version in the future that is available for mac or just a .jar file :0
I am working on a new version which will also be mac compatible!
___________
This version of this current tool is pretty bad, the new minecraft and modloader updated means that you will have to change a few things to get everything working right. I think..
Anyways...
Here's some features the new structure tool will POSSIBLY have:
.schematic importing and exporting
Custom size grid space
Custom block support
Mac compatible
Auto Updater (since there's many minecraft updates)
Feature to choose in which dimension the structure generates (normal world/end world/nether)
Rotate feature which will allow you to rotate your selected blocks (90/180..etc) degrees at a time.
Easy interface with a "cubiod" type structure making, so you don't need to click 50 times to create a 25x2 wall.
Copy and pasting (not sure yet but I will try)
Will allow you to set metadata
there will be options to add blocks like doors/torches etc... with semi-automatically set metadata
^---(example: you can choose where the door is rotated to)
After the basic test release I will allow the user to create their whole own 'village' with structures like a village (1 file for every building)
so you will be able to create village type structures of your own. Meaning you could make small towns and such.
But lets not get up ahead of our self's!
The test release is far away from being released... but I thought I'd let people know anyways.
Maybe if I have some free time I'll make a mod for minecraft that will export the code for buildings you're creating.
(would require 2 special blocks, everything you would build in the area of those 2 blocks would be dumped into a code)
Thanks for the support
I hope to see some great mods that will use my structure generation tool to generate structures.
Thankyou very much for not giving up. I suck at terrain gen and needed it for my dimension building and stuff transformers cybertron
I really didn't give up, I just wasn't in the mood to work on it anymore because my father was sick(cancer) and he died the 16th of march...
so I've been dealing with that.
Anyways...
The new tool wont come anytime soon, so I might work on this current tool... and fix all the current problems.
This way people don't have to wait for the new tool and can just use the old one for now.
Oh dayum, sorry to hear that bro D: But now he's alright, in a safe place above watching over ya
how long do you think the schematic importing and such would take? I mean like getting it working correctly supplying coordinates and converting them to code?

I'm figuring out the code now... I might only be able to do loading, so it would be smarter to make the structure with a tool like MCedit then use their .schematic export feature, then import it into my tool. Then of course export it into java code.
Right now I'm cleaning this version of the tool, so expect updates for this current tool instead.
(I will make a new cleaner tool, but that wont be any time soon)
At the moment I'm removing the 'line duplicate' bug.
When i open up the WorldGen file, my eclipse runs awfully slow.
Its because the tool of course generates about 10 times the lines it should. so it duplicates them.
I'm working on a .schematic to WorldGen_.java exporter.
Thanks to 'davve' I got a .schematic importer.

Me: WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING WHILE CREATING CREEPERS !?!?
Lemme know this would increase the number of downloads dramatically as well.
Thanx for your time,

Not sure if I'm going to continue working it.

Well this tool is made with game maker it does support mac but requires me to have a mac to make it mac compatible.
