You not even have to use Java for this, since you can write Chrome web apps with 'Native Client', which can have most of the same code as say, a desktop app. I don't know anything about that, though.
If anyone manages to come up with a concept, I'll help programming. I'm pretty good at HTML5 and JavaScript. I'm a CSS ninja. :biggrin.gif:
Just a little *bump* if you don'mind. I don't want an innovative idea to fall by the wayside!
Let's make this happen, people!
Thanks, guys. i'd really love for this to happen, since i'm a google fanatic. Again, like i said before, the mods would use some kind of api and the extension would have to detect .class files or java edits for this to work without other sites using the api to install viruses on your computer.
Just an idea, and thanks for bumping, cadika.i saw you post on the bukkit forums once. if you wish to contact me, skype me at vergick.
I don't like this idea. You'd have to test it with different browsers, deal with legal and licensing issues....We should really just make it a normal application, and even that's pointless once the mod api comes out.
Well first of all, I think the plan is to make a Chrome-specific extension. I don't see and legal issues either, considering it's just downloading mods people have already packaged (e.g. - not redistributing). Also, I have made a normal application - RedstoneModder.
Alright.
