I have the same problem, the terminal app opens up, makes a weird beeping noise, then quits. No error message shows up and no windows pops up. I am also running Lion
I think that this mod installer is not compatible with the newer versions of mac computers
I am using mountain lion and like the comment above me it makes a weird beeping noise and closes terminal with no errors and no McModTemp does not show up

yeah, i'm starting to figure that out also... I'm still trying to get it to work with mountain lion...
Alright guys, I found a fix to make it work on OS X 10.8.2 aka Mountain lion. I had the same problem that it simply didn't make the McModTemp folder. Here's what to do.
Open up terminal (just search for it using spotlight).
Type the following:
sudo chmod -x
and drag the icon of the McModder V1.8.app file you just downloaded.
You're prompted to type the administration password. Do it.
Bam, it works.
The terminal window should look somewhat like this:
Basically you give OS X full access to the file.
This did not work for me all it did was not open McModder at all ; - ;

I had the same problem to you, after doing the "sudo chmod -x" McModder no longer ran at all.
Here's how I fixed it. Do the exact same thing again in Terminal: "sudo chmod +x (drag mc modder file in the terminal window) and press enter.
This will change your McModder icon back to the way it was (instead of that paper and pencil).
Now you should be able to launch McModder again, and this time when you click Unpack Jar it actually opens up the new finder window with "Servertemp" and you can drag your mods in there.
Hope that helps!
I am running 10.8.2
Nevermind, It unpacks the server_jar, but won't pack it back up. :\
Any Mac friends having trouble installing forge on your minecraft_server.jar files? Check out my script that lets you do it easily with one simple click! For more info look here http://www.minecraft...-click-install/
I'm on Moutain lion, i tried to do what you said with terminal, I can unpack and pack easily but i still don't have mods on my minecraft. I think I did all the steps correctly. Maybe I shouldn't drag ALL the mod's file but I'm pretty sure that I did it right, Can you help me ?
(I hope you will understand my post, i'm french)
yeah, i'm having problems like that while i am coding it..
Yeah this sounds good and all but one question:how in the hell do I install it?!
I'd give u diamonds but until I get a reply, u get gold
you just run it, and install mods through this app...
and also, to all the people that use this app, i am still working on mcmodder v2.0, it will probably take a while to release it though... sorry to keep everyone waiting...
Sorry if this has already been addressed before but, if a mod we're trying to install requires Modloader/Forge does it work if we put those in McModder? Or do we not need them?
None of the mods I've tried to apply work, even though I follow directions properly. My Mc either doesn't load or it loads and there are no mods applied. ;n;
Hey Gawain. Huge Fan of your McModder. It works awesome. Well, until today, When I press "unpack Jar" The McModTemp folder comes up but there is nothing it in. McModder worked for me before, but I dont know what is wrong. If you could please help me. Thanks
I am noticing a lot of bugs with McModder with new Mac os Mountain lion and lion(and also snow leopard i think), so i am working on a completely new program that is almost done and it will replace McModder, it will still install mods though, just a lot more features! (:
