So, does this need WinRAR/7ZIP? I didn't really understand what the guy said in the windows video.
Why use a program that needs a tutorial when you can use something so simple, you don't need a tutorial. Just a few simple clicks, and you're all set! (Check sig below!)
However, I've tried both Indev versions patched over 1.3.2 and in the first one the mouse clicks activated menus instead of breaking/placing blocks. And in the second I could not create worlds without the game crashing...
You're right... Shooting down the opponent in a similar way to politics is not how business should be conducted. Still, I honestly want to know why everyone insists on using a command line tool instead of an admittedly newer, but far easier program that can be read and clicked on, and doesn't have to be updated in-line with MC updates. Honestly, I don't get it.

Great mod, downgrading to Alpha 1.2.6
No beds
No name tags on items
Oldskool graphics
No repeaters, pistons, cakes, note blocks...
So peaceful and epic. I might do a LP of it.
EDIT: I do just have one very small complaint
The door sound. Is it possible to use the old door sound used it Beta and Alpha?
And in all honesty, I think most of us would prefer it anyhow.
That said, once you get the proper server version, you'd still need this or PatchCraft to play.
Not quite 100% true. Yes, they need to manually get the server version at the moment, but all they need to play on the server is 1.3.2, which being the current version, they can just go into Minecraft and at the most "force update" if they happen to be on a different version.

I have a couple of questions, and I'm sorry if they come off as stupid, or have already been answered.
1) Can MCNostalgia allow me to downgrade my 1.3.2 (which I downloaded on Sunday, so I do NOT have any "backup binaries" of previous versions) straight down to 1.6.6 Beta (the current version for Xbox 360)?
2) If the answer to #1 is "Yes", am I still able to enter in my SEED ID? I have a SEED that I've been playing, on the Xbox 360 since May, and now that I'm playing primarily on the PC, I would absolutely adore being able to recreate my world (including the biomes and Dungeons, and features, that I fell in love with in the first place, on 1.6.6 Beta) flawlessly.
3) If the answer to #1 and #2 is "Yes", am I able to make a save file of a 1.6.6 Beta SEED, and then play that SEED safely in 1.3.2 Full version? I know that any loaded chunks (and I intend to load all of the chunks covered in the Xbox 360 map for my SEED) on the Xbox 360 version can never be changed, meaning that the limited map size on the 360 makes it impossible to ever get new terrain and items in it, but that's no problem for me... infinite worlds, means I can just go wander off and find new areas.
I'm really, really hoping that I can use this tool to revert back to 1.6.6 Beta long enough to grab a save of my preferred SEED, and then bring it safely to 1.3.2, without things going completely crazy. I fully expect that some terrain features and biomes might change, with the upgrade to ANVIL in a later update... which is something I'll be seeing happen on the 360 version... but I really want my original world to work in. I miss it.
Thanks in advance for any help and information that can be provided.
1: yes
2: yes, though I do not promise that the world gen will be 100% the same between the XBLA version and Minecraft Beta 1.6.6. It probably is though.
3: yes, though new chunks will use the new generator. Install something like OldDays or just explore a large amount of your 1.6.6 world before importing it into the release version.

I'm not expecting a 100% perfect replication of the SEED that I'm using... though, I've already been digging around the "Minecraft Seeds.net" and other Seed sites... and the one that I want to use from 1.6.6 Beta to 1.7.3 Beta looks identical on the sites I've checked, versus how it looks on the 360 (and I was even able to find new Dungeons, using people's coordinates they posted, for the PC side, on my 360 save). I'm a little sad that, despite all of these sites that share up Seeds, and shared cartographs of the landscape, nobody thought to upload a save file... not even one where they already built junk (which I could just destroy in Creative).
I looked around, and saw that Olddays was a mod... but I don't really know too much about adding mods, and get worried about borking Minecraft, or even my computer, adding them in. I'm going to have to test MCNostalgia out on my old PC, and see if the Save File still works, after bumping up from 1.6.6 Beta to 1.3.2 Full... and if it doesn't break support, I'll be adding a copy of the save to my current computer.
Thank you for your help, Insanity, it's appreciated. +1 to your Rep.
I managed to revert back to 1.7.3 Beta, so I can start replicating my favorite world. Was SO amazed to find out that the Dungeons I've found on the Xbox 360 are in the same spot on the original PC seed. I had to "cheat" a little bit with SPC to teleport to the different Dungeons (mostly the ones so deep underground, that it would take forever to get to them again).
And I didn't need to use "OldDays" to prevent world corruption when I converted the world save for 1.3.2 Full... it safely converted for me, in the official launcher.
Highly recommend this for people wanting to relive older versions.

Drakken: Way to be arrogant.

A very generic and bland signature because I can't decide what to write here. I also hate my profile name. Refer to me as Cheese, my Steam name.
Neither MCNostalgia nor PatchCraft , nor any other version switcher AFAIK handles server JARs. Looking into distributing Bukkit JARs at the moment.
Read the post directly above yours.
