Minecraft Mod Mover 5.0 is out! It can now copy your lastlogin file to the .minecraft folder in new modes, so you don't have to log in when making a new mode. Just copy your lastlogin file to the same folder MinecraftModMover.exe is in.
If you're like me you have many, incompatible mods that you like to use at different times. You probably wish you could run Minecraft without the lag or conflict multiple mods have, but that would would be to perfect to be true. Right? WRONG! You need Minecraft Mod Mover! This Minecraft launcher, brought to you by the creator of AutoMiner and Minecraft Hot Keys, does just that. Say you have two different sets of mods you like to play with. With Minecraft Mod Mover, this is just a few clicks away! All you need to do it make two seperate .minecraft folders, load the mods into the ones you want, move them into the folders Minecraft Mod Mover uses, and presto! You can switch between your mods with just one click!
Here's a few examples of what yours could look like. Yours can have as many modes as you want with whatever names you want. It can even move modes that are different versions of Minecraft!
Donations are greatly appreciated even if it's a small amount.
Change List:
5.0
-it will copy the lastlogin file when you are making a new mode, so you don't have to type in your username and password each time
4.1
-the "denied access" error is fixed
-added a new automatic backup system
-you can also restore a mode from one of its backups
4.0
- has an option to rename modes
3.1
- Works with Windows XP
3.0
- It now moves your saves, so that all of them are always in the mode you're using
- minor bug fixes
2.0
- Uses .mode files instead of .txt files, to prevent interference with certain mods
- Creates the .mode files on its own
- Tells you what's wrong for most errors
- There is a menu that lets you put all folders back, and add a new mode within the program
It won't work. I did as the instructions.txt said and removed my .minecraft from the roaming folder (and backed it up, of course) and put it in the Singleplayer, made a .mode file, and tried to press the Signleplayer button in the program. It gave me an error.
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application."
and told me that access to the folder is denied.
Should the program be run from a specific folder? Like Roaming?
If I tried using the "put all folders back" option, the program says "There is no .minecraft folder in roaming."
Add a new mode let me input a name. I press ok and the program closes.
It DID create a new folder, though, with a .minecraft file that contained only a .mode file.
The move worlds option appears to work.
Sorry this was a bit long, I just wanted to give you all relevant information to make things easier for everyone.
This looks really useful, I really want to get it to work.

I've gotten that error before. I'm not sure how to fix it yet, but if you just hit continue and try again. It might take a few tries, but is usually works.
Sorry that I couldn't give better support. I'll fix the error, as soon as I can.
I've done everything it says in the instructions, but it says "There is no .minecraft folder in the Wasteland folder", Wasteland being the mode name. I've checked and there is clearly a .minecraft folder in there. What's going on? Would the fact that I have Windows XP change anything?

Christianity in a nutshell: We have all sinned, so we deserve eternity in hell. But God (God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit) loved us so much he sent His Son to die for us, to take the punishment meant for us. All we need to do is accept it, and we have heaven headed our way.
Is there one that does not require windows like one that works with linux.
I used visual studios to program it, so no.
I'm taking a java class next year, so I'll rewrite in java in about a year.
Sorry I can't fix this issue sooner.

That's probably it. Can you please tell me where the .minecraft folder is in XP, and I'll fix it in an update, as soon as I can.

Thank you for the quick response!

Camping isn't cheating, it's called strategy. Same with attacking at a range and/or from behind. If you can't learn to be observant of the area, then you will die, and while you were reading this, I shot you in the back. If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.

Yes, as long as you don't update that mode.
