So, today my little brother decided to make a puzzle map using the new Creative mode. However, after he made his, he released that he couldn't play it in Survival mode. This upset him greatly, so I decided to make a solution and create a program that switches your world's game mode. The program has a nice, simple interface, and it's easy to use. I realise that there probably are in-game mods that do this, however some people don't know how to install mods or they don't feel comfortable using them.
The Clear Inventory option lets you pick whether or not you want to clear your inventory after you switch game modes. Useful if you don't want the infinite items from Creative in your Survival map.
Instructions:
Download the program from the link below.
Save your world and close Minecraft
Run the program and click the "Browse" button
Pick the world your want to change and select it's "level.dat" file
Right now nobody has made a in-game mode switcher so if you feel up to the challenge try making a in-game version or try making the program automaticly find all the worlds and put them in a list. But still thnaks for the Prog

I'm not really sure I could make an in-game editor. As for the list of worlds, the reason that I didn't do that was because I was thinking that the world might not actually in the saves folder.
Yours doesn't appear to have been the first. Someone else had also already come out with one which I believe was also featured on this site awhile ago.
Anyhow, for comparison purposes, here's a link to the other one:
Glad you guys all like it! However, does anyone have any ideas/complaints? Can someone confirm that this runs on Mac and Linux?
Idea!
Why Dont You Make it Into a mod?? A InGame Mod For The ESC Key Save screen thing It Would be soo Cool! But Ill use the program for now Thanks Love it !
Awesome this is great for single player, but is there one around for multilayer? my server has turned into a survival mode when it should be creative. I've looked around but not found anything like this to solve that issue.
You can use the command:
/gammode [player] 0
To set that player's mode to survival.

It should run on Windows as a .jar. Try right clicking on it and choosing Open With > Java.
For starters, I suggest you use this.

Nice app, and it's great that you are using Nimbus Look&Feel, not this ugly default look.
You can use the command:
/gammode [player] 0
To set that player's mode to survival.
