I don't really see how this works, i pressed new and from file save and used level.dat but it didn't load anything, then i tried the seed one and it still loaded nothing? It would be great if you could include some instructions on the OP

That usually happens from an incompatible minecraft.jar, whether an unsupported version or a modded jar.
Checklist for when AMIDST doesn't work for you:
* Look at the first post, near the download links, and make sure your version of minecraft.jar is supported. If not you can use the next step to provide AMIDST with a supported version.
* If you have a modded minecraft.jar file, see this post for how to tell AMIDST where your vanilla minecraft.jar is.
* If you are running MacOSX mountain lion look back in this topic to shortly after Apple released it. A few people reported problems and at least one of them reported how to overcome his.
* Look back through the last 3 pages, at least, and see if any of the recent discussion helps you. (In particular, telling a minecraft.jar 1.2.5 or similar version to use large biomes just gets you a normal biome world.)
* Use the bug reporting form from the top of the first post.

So I have a bit of time. Does anyone have any interest in a minor AMIDST update to support the latest snapshot?
YES. But can you tell me how it finds strongholds? I keep seeing rumors about additional strongholds (more than 3) being possible, which would be really great for some SMP servers. Could amidst find those if they exist? Could eyes of ender find them? I just want to find ONE world with a proven 4th stronghold so I can test things out with it.
My suggestions are:
-make an icon for strongholds
-find dungeons
-find other points of interest (spawn, nether portals, chests)
-Y value for strongholds?
hope u like the feedback, the program is AMAZING btw
I know what would make this program even better is to add in the locations for jungle temples seeing how both the jungle and sand temples came out at the same time it would only make sense to have both.

They are both there. For example, try the seed Tiger (default biomes.) Just both temple types have the same icon displayed.

Nice suggestions. The spawn indication is probably top on my list. Dungeons, Y values and maybe even chests will hopefully be available after the upcoming rewrite. Nether portals and stronghold icon are already included. Or, do you mean jungle temple icon?
HELP i open the program i enter a seed then it make me select the world type and after nothing happen the program remain open but the others tabs dont open and don't apper nothing
In that train of thought, could have it show Desert Wells, too. I have one in my world but it doesn't show up as anything
Hmm - I thought 'Desert Wells' were 'discontinued' & replaced with 'Desert Temples' IIRC....
I've not come across ANY wells in any world made in 1.3.X version of Minecraft
I guess you're using an old world (which had a well) on newer Minecraft version, which created the temples when you moved into an unexplored part of your world...
AMIDST only creates a map based on the coding of World generation in the current version of minecraft.jar.
AFAIK, It doesn't scan the world files & list all the buildings etc it contains
Very nice mapper, finally found all the friggin mushroom biomes....... Current terrain generation needs "some" tweaking,
That's a problem with Minecraft.jar world generation code not with AMIDST... best suggest it to Notch & Co.
Desert wells are pretty much useless until they eliminate water pools in the desert, which would make more sense. Sometimes, there are more water pools in a desert than forest. They (Mojang) should fix that.

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.
Hi,
I have a problem:
every time I open the program and say File->new->something and type in the seed or the path to my level.dat and hit OK, nothing happens...
Am I doing something wrong?
Please help
I am using win7 64bit (with java 6: 64 and 32bit version)

I have downloaded the Amidst mod but when i input a seed or choose from file, after choosing the Amidst screen just stays blank, and I've tried to right click and go "open with" but I don't have that option.
Any suggestions?
Skidoodle, I have a feature request. I know that we can control the zoom to a certain extent using the mouse wheel, but this method of control is, to be honest, kind of crappy. Do you think you could add zoom buttons or a zoom bar like the one on Google earth?
either that, or make it so that scrolling one way zooms in, and scrolling the other way zooms out.
at this point, if I even nudge the scroll wheel, BAM instant zoom in to the point that I can't see anything but ocean.
Second, I love this program! it's so useful ^^
and I can't wait for the Biome Search feature to be functional. Keep up the good work!
PS: cool game, if I had an android, I'd buy it, but alas, I only have an iPad. Maybe you could work with SK89q or somebody like that to port it to iOS?
They are both there. For example, try the seed Tiger (default biomes.) Just both temple types have the same icon displayed.
Than what I would suggest is make a new icon for the jungle temples so people don't over look them from the sand temples. I have seen some smaller desert biomes with the sand temple and some large ones with one or more and with desert and jungle temples being in close proximity it kinda throws some people off.
For the Jungle temples I would suggest in using the mossy cobblestone as the icon.

Short, easy-to-remember (ETR) seeds.

No, ask the server admin for the seed.
v2.0.x already supports large biomes (give it a compatible minecraft.jar, of course.) The upcoming rewrite should be able to find dungeons and more.

Nvm will try post above's way.
Just had to un-mod minecraft.
