Terrain Generation is different in 1.9. When I loaded a 1.8.1 map on it, areas that weren't yet generated created those nice flat walls of new generation. As such, this shouldn't work, at least mostly not. I think Oceans are more plentiful so Mushroom Biome has more places to occur, since they are islands.
There are a few changes, most of which I've updated the application for (the unreleased version) but something is still off...
Granted if you use version 0.3 of it (or maybe it was 0.2, whichever one WASN'T accurate) you'll be within 112 blocks of a stronghold even in 1.9.
I'm hoping I'll be able to get it working today, but it's a really tricky thing, I basically have to simulate biome creation.
Edit:
Just wanted to give an update, I should have a working update within an hour or two.
Edit 2:
Maybe not....
However, it appears they haven't actually changed the stronghold code at all. My best guess is that the new biomes are messing with it... I'll look into the issue further.
Sorry, didn't realise Picasa made that album non-public by default. I'll move images and repost

"This is my timey wimey detector. Goes ding when there's stuff."
This application (spanning across all versions) has been downloaded 11,497 times, 997 of those were through adf.ly adding up to roughly $2.24 worth of profit.
At this rate I should have that Triple Baconator Meal by the end of the month!
(If you average it all out, I'm getting paid like 11c an hour to work on this)
I was told strongholds were 120 degrees from each other, so I've been using the coordinates of one to find the other two. That doesn't actually seem to work very well.
So to get this straight:
You came into a topic about a stronghold finder, and instead of asking "Can you make a village finder?" you ask if anyone knows one? Here's one.

Stronghold amount cap is being lifted in Beta 1.9, so this won't be as useful for very much longer in it's current state. You should wait until full 1.9 launches and he can make proper adjustments. :smile.gif:
I've made several attempts to update the program for 1.9, all of which have failed :sad.gif: At this rate it'll be whenever MCP 4.5 is released. (A few days perhaps?)
The file with the Meta-Inf IS the jar. Instead of opening it with winRAR, right click on it and say open with->java platform
Uhhhhh... should I have right clicked the stronghold finder or the MetaInf cause Uh... I right clicked META INF And it didnt show an open with. It also didnt show one when I rightclicked the Strongholdfinder.jar...

1.8.1
1.9
This WILL work when the next Minecraft Coder Pack is released, until then the coordinates will be in the same area, but not accurate!
(I'm also trying to do it without the coder pack but for some reason it keeps thinking there's a river everywhere!)
EDIT: SKIDOODLE? Y OP STOP SAYING THIS R SEPERATE PROGRAM?!
This is a program that you run completely seperately of mc by entering the worlds seed into it. you can find the seed for anyone.
