Wow, it's much improved. I used it, went to the EXACT coordinates of the first Stronghold, and dug down. After like 6 blocks, landed in a cave. I turned around, and right behind me part of the floor was made of (Mossy) Stone Bricks. Nice work. :laugh.gif:
Edit:
Cave system eats out the place. Then this Abandoned Mine simply tears it apart. I hope he's working on structure generation, because this is just plain terrible.
I'm getting "Invalid Biome" when in input my seed with a negative number:
Seed: -7801544992594867953
-snip-
Running Mac OS X 10.7.1 if that is any help.
I believe he said that means the location the game would normally put the Stronghold simply won't work. AKA the game would want to put the Stronghold where it is predicting, but the location it ends up won't work for a Stronghold, so there isn't one there.

Your problem is your OS actually.
Normally only one of the three places (usually) could ever be invalid, but apparently on Mac OS X it displays the application differently and only shows you three numbers.... I'll look into changing the formatting to fix this.
On my computer:
Edit:
As a side note, I have NO experience with changing the look and feel of a window in java.
The Mac OS X issue has been fixed, but the UI looks super ugly, if anyone knows Java and wants to lend a hand with that, any help would be appreciated.
Current Code: (Keep in mind, I have NO idea what I'm doing when it comes to UI)
Beta 1.9 Pre-release came out, and if it has infinite Strongholds, this might be useless to people who upgrade... You think you could check the files to see if this still works for 3 of the Strongholds? Probably doesn't.

If they're scattered I can still give the coordinates of nearby ones.
Here's a comparison of the same seed in 1.9 as I used for the 1.8.1 map. The previous map is the faded colour.
Just the Terrain
Showing strongholds (to be specific stone brick, silverfish brick, wool and obsidion)
I can't seem to click your pictures o:
Edit:
Just wanted to give an update, I should have a working update within an hour or two.
Edit 2:
Maybe not....
However, it appears they haven't actually changed the stronghold code at all. My best guess is that the new biomes are messing with it... I'll look into the issue further.
Terrain Generation is different in 1.9. When I loaded a 1.8.1 map on it, areas that weren't yet generated created those nice flat walls of new generation. As such, this shouldn't work, at least mostly not. I think Oceans are more plentiful so Mushroom Biome has more places to occur, since they are islands.
I had no problem finding it-- Although I find most of these issues can be solved by trying out a transparent texture pack.

And they were.

Thanks again for helping

Here's the map showing the co-ordinates:
Here's the map with an overlay that just shows stone brick and silverfish brick blocks:
Also, sorry if it didn't quite make sense, it was like 3am here, and my internet was out for some odd reason... So I figured I might as well.

I'll regenerate the world I used for my post with the 1.9 release tonight and post comparison pics.
ah well :sad.gif:
I'm hoping that later tonight (it's currently 11:40pm here) I'll be able to get it working again!
I know how much you all love my awesome application 8)
