I just want to say thank you so much for making this, it completely beats all the others of this kind. But I needed to ask, are you going to be adding Snow and Mushroom biomes for Minecraft 1.0?
There are just two very minor things that annoy me a bit;
-The view doesn't seem to stay centered when I zoom in
-The centre of the map seems to render after the border sometimes, which makes checking out certain things a bit more time consuming.
Awww, now I feel bad about that little bit of negativity...
Keep up the awesome work :biggrin.gif:
I'm aware there's a lot of zooming/rendering issues. Which I was I've opted to rewrite the majority of the project. Hopefully it won't take me too long to finish it up :biggrin.gif:
REALLY cool tool. The one thing I was looking forward too is unfortunately not working, but it's an amazing thing nonetheless. I want to use the "biome finder", is it not yet implemented?

No, not yet. I'm not entirely sure exactly what it should do either. If you have any input on what you'd like to see, I'd love to hear it.
I'm running Windows 7 and for some reason AMIDST isn't working for me. I've tried loading new 1.0 worlds from save and via typing in a seed and nothing happens. The window remains completely blank. I've even left it for half an hour to see if it's just loading slowly and still nothing. Any assistance would be appreciated, I'd really like to try out this program!
Edit: I re-downloaded my MC jar and it started working for some reason. I don't understand how that fixed things, but I'm happy it's working!
Since I'm working on command line options, what are some of the things people would like to see available in that, and how should the parameters look?
It's 6:41am, so I'm actually going to go to bed. But before I do, I'd like to do a statistics post.
At the time of writing this application has been downloaded 53,869 times, adding up to 42.24 GB of bandwidth. With adf.ly, I've made $58.79105 from 30,676 views. This money actually went to my electric bill. You guys are what's keeping me warm this winter.
This tool is more than worth it, and as soon as I can, I'm going to buy you a beer. (paypal)
Hey! This application is great, but I have one issue: The maps it produces are never accurate. It *almost* always gets the locations of the strongholds correct, but the biome maps are always wrong. Is there something I'm doing wrong, perhaps?

I dunno, so far from what I've seen it is fairly accurate as far as biomes go. The borders seem to vary some, but the proper biomes are basically in the proper locations.
There's probably just some extra level of variable that comes into play when worlds are generating that might be throwing it off that little bit.
Excellent tool regardless, very handy!

Steam? The only steam I see is emanating from that pile of crap slapped onto so many good games nowadays.
If your penis looks anything like a creeper I suggest you go see a doctor about it, something's definitely wrong!

The biomes are all correct however if you're loading an old map (generated pre 1.0 full release) then they won't necessarily match up to the generated land. Also, the landforms themselves don't always match up but that's to do with terrain generation, not biome generation. From what I can tell, this is also why villages sometimes don't generate even though they say they will on AMIDST. I spent the last two hours testing seeds from 0 to about 300 just seeing what MC will do.

As mentioned in the quote bellow, this isn't entirely accurate. There's a great deal of changes between the biome map and the actually blocks that get placed. The biomes are taken more as a "suggestion" to the world generator.

I just wish I could get things a bit more accurate :S
Also, I learned something today... 1.0.0 release + Friday night = Lots of downloads.
Can't launch AMIDST. Tried giving it both the 1.0.0 minecraft.jar and the 1.8.1 minecraft.jar; in either case, I get the following error:

I really don't understand the question.

Life, the Universe and Everything to ya' man
Thank you very much

Honestly, Norton hates everything.
Well thank you very much :smile.gif:
Wait... it can't? .... that explains a lot.

That's really odd. As this size limit was not intentional. I'll look into it, but I may just fix it with 2.1.
I was also unable to go to coordinates.
Why don't you just start your own server locally?
You need to add the -noverify flag.
