to run it in JAR mode, you'll need to add the -noverify flag.
java -noverify -jar AMIDST.jar
What does this mean??
That text is what you need in the .bat file (Windows) or whatever Linux and Macs use to launch .jar files. If you're on Windows just use the .exe file instead.
My map won't load in the AMIDST file, I type in my seed, then it just sits there?

I'm just trying to load my world and it's not working.
Yeah this is the exact problem I was having. Following some advice posted further down I replaced my minecraft.jar with the original (I use the built in mcpatcher mods and nothing else). Before I only got a white screen, after it works. I'm running windows 8. Just thought I'd give confirmation and thank Spruu for the solution.

This does not seem to work with MCPatcher, which is a shame. I guess you can just backup the original 1.5 jar and use it with AMIDST, and revert it back to the mcpatched one after.
Hi,
I'm using Windows 7 - 64 bit and it works great for me except for one feature. Right clicking no longer brings up the option to "move player here" which I use often as I have different projects going on in different areas. I would sure like to have this option back.
Thanks for the program!
This program helped me get re-started in Minecraft ever since I lost my original world. (My old computer got cleared)
(It was from 1.8 ) Thanks to this lovely program I have found another village!... With actual villagers. xD
I thank you for existing, good sir.

Hi, AMIDST used to run just fine for me, but recently when I try to run it I get the following java exception:

Any ideas what might cause this? I'm running the latest AMIDST. My level.dat is from a 1.5.1 game. Thanks!
Add me to the list of the non-functioning. 100% fresh minecraft 1.5.1 install and Amidst v2.0.43 running on Win7 64-bit. Running Amidst offers no error log, just a white screen after entering any seed.
And because I've never said it before: I love this program. I've been loving it since you first offered it the masses, we, the lost and mapless, stronghold-less, village-less Steves. Thanks, and keep up the good work. (It's not much, but I click the Adfly link every time you update because, really, it's worth 5 seconds.)

I can't even get this to download. I click Download when I get to Mediafire and it just refreshes the page. I have a feeling it's because of AdBlock, but I wouldn't turn that off even if somebody threatened to shoot me.
(Edit: Braved it. Still won't download AND there's annoying ads all over the place.)
I request a sorely lacking feature in the program; sensible error reporting. Currently it errors out with nothing but a blank screen for me. Had there at least been an indication of failure (such as a message saying unsupported version of Minecraft) it would be possible to diagnose the problem.

my OS is win7 64bit. I run the amidst.exe, it has the same problem.
But how does this happen?

I got the same exact thing. No matter what I do it still wont work.

This does not seem to work with MCPatcher, which is a shame. I guess you can just backup the original 1.5 jar and use it with AMIDST, and revert it back to the mcpatched one after.

Same. My minecraft isn't patched either.

Annnnd, done. Also, this update includes an option to turn off map icons.

Thanks! Especially for adding the new option!
