Hello,
I'm running Windows 7, with the latest version of 32bit java (my system is 32bit), and the version of minecraft I'm running is 1.4.5 unmodded. The seed is -7532479965266875460.
In Amidst, when I click on Open from seed, and type in my seed, nothing happens. Nothing happens when I try opening a world either. Anyone know what the problem is?

Weird - I've tried it & it works OK (32bit Win XP though)...however I have tried this on an older AMIDST & getting nothing at all (v2.0.39 to be exact)
Tried entering th seed - get a 'world tpye' popup & then nothing but grey screen
Tried loading in a 1.4.5 created world & nothing but grey screen
When you try entering the seed - do you get a popup asking for world type ?? (e.g. default), you haven't mentioned that...
If you do, have you the LATEST AMIDST version (start it up & look @ the top bar) it SHOULD be 2.0.41.
If it isn't then that could be your problem - try downloading the latest version & try again...
If it is already the latest version - we'll have to guess at something else is causing the problem

That's exactly what happened. It does ask for a world type. This is happening to me on 2 different computers, just tried it on this one (it's a 64bit system) and the same thing happened.
- Operating System- Win7 64bit - Java Version- Java 6 V22 - Minecraft Version-1.4.5 - AMIDST Version- Latest - A detailed description of what happened- Everything else worked fine, but when I went to where it said my Nether Fortress would be, nothing was there. Any help?

the values shown for netherfortress are the locations in the NETHER that you suppose to find them - it's still not guaranteed that you will find one though (a bit like villages) as there are certain conditions hardcoded into Minecraft that AMIDST can't compensate for (unless you're mistaking 'nether fortress' for 'strongholds')
You don't say if you visit the nether & go to the location or go 'overland' to the co-ord & build a portal expecting to enter it & find a fortress .. but I'm guessing you're doing it the second way.. if so take the values & multiply by 8... go to that location in the overworld & make the portal... you should then see a fortress once you go through the portal (hopefully)
What JAVA are you running ?
What Minecraft version are you using ??
What AMIDST version are you using ??
What OS are you running ???
Does it give a blank screen if you try loading in a world map ???
Is your Minecraft.jar pre- modded ??
Did you read the first post ??
Do you understand the bit about reporting a bug ??
Did you know giving us the info can help us help you ??
Well, after weeks of testing, I finally got AMIDST to work with a heavily modified jar. I used the workaround provided by SkiDoodle earlier in this thread along with some of my own tweaks. If we're talking percentages, then I would say that with my method, AMIDST accurately finds the villages and strongholds about 95% of the time. Now I've tested this with different world seeds, Forge, and most of the major mods that alter world generation, and sure enough, AMIDST was accurate in almost all cases. If anyone wants to see my technique, just say the word and I'll post it here.

Why don't you just post it here and send it as a message to Skidoodle? That way, people could get it working like you did, and Skidoodle could add it to the first post
Alright guys, since taj1994 asked me, here is my method for getting AMIDST to work with modded jars. Two things to note before you click the spoiler button: First, this method only works for the Windows .exe copy of AMIDST. I can't help you with the -noverify java error. Second, this method also involves starting a new Minecraft world in single player with cheats enabled. This allows you to switch the gamemode to creative, and use the teleport command to verify that AMIDST was accurate in finding the villages. That being said, here are the instructions, and I apologize in advance if they seem wordy. I tried to explain the steps as best I could.
The setup:
Step 1. Download a fresh copy of AMIDST.exe from the first page of this thread. I chose the Adfly version.
Step 2. Download a fresh copy of vanilla Minecraft.
Step 3. Place the two items above in a folder on the C: drive. You can create a separate folder, or use an existing one, but put only these two items in, and nothing else. (I put them in my Downloads folder since I'm using Firefox as my web browser.)
Now that the setup is done, here is the method itself.
Step 1. Using your existing modded jar, start a new world in Minecraft with cheats enabled. Be sure the game is in maximised window mode, not full screen. We are going to be switching back and forth between AMIDST and Minecraft, and you will need open windows for this. Step 2. Once the world has loaded, press the chat button, and type /seed at the command prompt to display your world seed. Copy it down exactly as you see it. (this is critical as it's the only way my method works) I put my seed in a Wordpad document. You'll see why in a minute. Step 3. Quit the game.
Now use the modded jar workaround provided by SkiDoodle. The procedures are as follows, and they are straight from page 100 on this thread. His steps are in normal type, my additions are in bold.
1.) Navigate to your minecraft folder. ( %appdata%/.minecraft/bin/ )
2.) Rename your modified minecraft.jar to something else. ( minecraft_mod.jar )
3.) *Run AMIDST. It should prompt you to provide a copy of minecraft. Use your unmodified copy of minecraft for this. - after you do this, and after you press File in the menu, choose the "From world seed" option. DO NOT enter the name of your world. If you put the seed in a Wordpad or Notepad document, just copy and paste it inside the dialog box that pops up. Now hit Okay, choose your world type, and you should now see the map for your world seed. (In my testing, this was the moment of truth, and it seemed to work every time.) If you don't see the map, go back and make sure you copied down the numbers for the seed verbatim.
* Also, just a quick note about this step. This is where some users are getting the -noverify java error. I am truly sorry, but only Skidoodle can fix this one.
Once the map is loaded, DO NOT CLOSE AMIDST. Instead, leave it running and minimize the window. Now proceed to SkiDoodle's step 4 below.
4.) Rename your modified minecraft.jar back to its original name.
AMIDST should save the location of the of your vanilla minecraft for future launches.
---Now back to my tweaks.
Step 3. After renaming your modded jar back to it's original name, run Minecraft and load the new world that you just created. (Remember, you should have cheats enabled.) Switch to creative mode so you can use the teleport command for the steps below. Step 4. Press escape to pause the game and maximize the AMIDST window. Locate the coordinates for the village that you wish to find. You should know how to do this if you've used the program once. Step 5. Note the coordinates, minimize AMIDST, and enter the coordinates in-game using the teleport command.
Example: /tp <minecraft username> x, y, z
Now at this point, if you've done everything right, you should be teleported inside the village that AMIDST finds after you press Enter. I chose to fly in creative mode as well, so the village would be under my feet when using a high y coordinate. Y = 85 works nicely. Step 6. Rinse and repeat steps 4 and 5 to find new villages.
Well, there you go. I hope this helps someone. The above procedure worked almost everytime I tried it. Remember that I'm using a heavily modified jar with over 20 mods. This includes Minecraft Forge, and mods that alter world generation such as IC2, Buildcraft, Factorization, etc... If this procedure works for anyone, please let me know in your posts. Thank you, and good luck

I tried running AMIDST like this:
java -noverify -jar "C:\Users\******\Desktop\AMIDST.exe"
It seems to conflict with world class "xv" from minecraftforge, but I do not know enough about modding to figure out what exactly.
It doesn't work with a modded minecraft.jar... That means Forge, ModLoader, and OptiFine too...
It worked fine with my heavily modded minecraft.jar until I replaced modloader with minecraftforge
Also just so you know I'm on a mac. A couple updates ago, it did work.
So lets try to help you out..............
