It is definitely possible to make denser planetoid maps. I'll do it whenever I finish making new configuration file format and some other problems.
Unfortunately I may not make an exactly same density, because of the method I use to create planets and delete unnecessary planets.
Also I think that such density would be too much. And also, as you mentioned, my generator have an option to create a ground level at any altitude, so when there are water or lava beneath planets, my generator creates more planets.
I made a world with water underneath and thats where the maps in de post above came from. I am looking forward to the new options and will keep track of this topic! Keep up the good work!

You've made a map a bit wrong. I see, that there are large spheres on a map. If you lower the radiuses of the spheres, there will be much more spheres on a map.

Ah, is that it. That explains a lot. The old generator seems to work fine with big spheres though. It both has pro's and con's as with anything in life. Btw, might it be possible to get an option if you don't want hollow glass spheres? Becuase I find them rather useless and I'd rather fill that space up with something worth mining.....

How about water inside those spheres? It can be used to safely get down from spheres, decorating and some other stuff.
I'll add this option, just like choosing a biomes for BioSpheres.

Yeah I realized that, but there are other ways to get up if you've collected resources, or either using a mod or in creative mode (1.8) you can fly around. Anyway thank you very much for considering the feature for the next version! Your program has much more potential then any other map generator and I'm really looking forward to seeing more from your work!
Hi again, (how can you forget me !?! :angry.gif: )
no but seriously (I write it like this? i'm not sure ^^) great work, i really like biosphere map,
But I see one error in boisphere: they are in general in a low level and their bottom cut by the limit, but anyway i's juste strange to see (but i'm also happy of that: i can see slime :biggrin.gif: ) (sorry i've just got some near sphere like that but the others ore ok so i'd sais nothing)
If i think for good idea i'll tell you.
Ps. Can you make the program create exactly the building i god in mind?
Ps2. ok ok my first ''PS'' is only because i don't have big artistic talent
I've not yet been able to run this program, as Norton keeps deleting it as containing some kind of malware. I suspect that it's the code that writes straight to the disk bearing similarities with actual malware.

This is sort of a feature of this generator.
I wanted to transfer as much features as possible from original generator. In original generator BioSpheres also had different altitude, but they didn't had different radiuses, according to that altitude. This means that if the sphere is located too high and the radius is too large, the upper part of the sphere would come off the bounds of the map and there would be a hole. My generator calculates radius of each BioSphere according to their altitude, so this error is impossible to recreate. Also BioSpheres, that are located too high just deleted.
Similar situation in lower part of the map. If BioSphere is too low and radius is too large, the lower part of the sphere wold cut off. I didn't changed that, because it is less important and it does not affect the appearance of the map so much.

For writing to the disk my program uses WindowsAPI function "Writefile". I'm sure, that almost any program uses this function, so I can't change this in any way.
Your Norton is too suspicious. :dry.gif:

Hi everyone. I'm announcing a new version of my program: 0.6.1.0. You can find a download link in the first post.
In this version I've implemented a new configuration file format and fixed some bugs regarding BioSpheres generation.
P.S. The next 0.6.x.x versions will contain only improvements in generator options and new settings. After I will implement all planned features in existing generators, I will continue to make new generators and features.
I'm sorry, but I need a rather resource intensive map to be generated. I need an open sky planetoid map with 238 for both of the minimum/maximum radius, 100 for the minimum length between them, 5% density, and I need it to be 1024x1024 chunks, and I need to have the void border. My computer can't handle this, can someone generate it and post a download link, or PM it to me? Thanks.

1024x1024 chunks map is 32x32 regions map. Each region file is about 4 Mb. So do a simple math: 32x32x4=4096 Mb=4 Gb. I don't think that anyone will upload 4 Gb of data (even when compressed, this is still too large), so you will need to make this map on your computer somehow.
Any ideas? My problem is that when I try to generate it, it says "MCTerra.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." and then the next time I try to run it Norton SONAR removes it. Also, a bug, if you try to change the radius setting, it sets it to 238, saying that the selected density is to big.
I have a random idea for a generator to add to this, it would be extremely simple too, though I'm probably the only person who would want to use it...
I call the idea 'Ant Farm'
In essence the default settings would have solid dirt from layer 1 all the way up to 126, with bedrock at the top, bottom, and maybe sides.
What fun is that you might ask? Well there would also be randomly placed holes in the dirt, of various sizes. Most of them would be empty pockets of air, but others could have water or lava, just to make tunnelers be careful.
As for resources, there could be chests placed in the air pockets or even stuck in the dirt with no way to reach them but to dig! These could have tools, armor, blocks, materials, pretty much anything in them! And just to be fair, there would be a chest in the spawn area cave with a stack of torches and some shovels. I think it would be kinda fun. Then again I am, again, most likely the only one who thinks this. ^.^;

You didn't give me any useful information. The message is a standard windows message, that could mean anything, and the bug you found is weird and you gave me no clues how to recreate it.
Several posts above one person is already complaining about Norton, so I suggest you to turn it off and try again. It may be the case, that Norton is causing a program to terminate with an error.

I don't quite understand your idea, but what I can understand is very similar to Golden Tunnels. Can you describe it more specific?

There would be no tunnels at the start, just lots and lots of dirt, with unconnected rooms containing chests with supplies, and maybe some fully buried chests as well... You know what, just disregard this, it's not important ^.^
How about a Town generator. Basicly It grabs buildings and other schematics and places it randomly in the city. So basicly It has a schematic folder. It would have premade ones already but you can but your own in. Then in settings choose schematics to use and size and border like usual.Oh and reigon too!
P.S. For Castle walls border there is Gate Option yet its greyed out. I assume Its next update but im a little curious.

These things does a mod, called Mace. I think I won't do that option, because Mace will be better. I don't want to do anything that is worse then someone else work.
Will you be implementing Mysterious islands someday? I would really like to see that.
I will implement this option as part of "Generation of seperate biomes" option (sky biome). The thing is that I work on this program alone and I don't have so much time to satisfy the needs of comunity. I tried to seek another Delphi programmer, but I failed.
Also a little update: I've finished working on a new Flatmap generator. I assume that when I release this generator, all topics in Map section of this forum regarding different kinds of flat maps with different layers will be useless, because my generator will be able to make them all. Now I'm working on new configuration file format to support new generator.
