This is awesome, been looking for something like this. I would also like to throw my hat in with people wanting mob rendering, at least as am optional add on or something, because it is really boring spending 2+ hours trying to find a slime to see if it looks ridiculous in the skin you made for it.
But this will really help with making skins for the humanoid entities, regardless of other mobs.
I've decided to separate Minecraft Skin Viewer into two variants: standard and extended. Extended version contains mob models. A the moment there is only Creeper, Skeleton and Pig but I will add all mobs in the future. I also think that the perspective view will be available only in standard version, because it is quite complicated... :wink.gif:
Yay! I need to find where you mention this perspective view so I know what that is.

Oh, the different poses, really thats only needed for char skins. and zombies.
Hey, you should add support for 32x (really 2x bigger) char.png textures, since I don't imagine it would be hard. The resolution for them is 128x64, by the way.
First of all, i'd like to say that this is REALLY COOL!!! I've been looking for something like this, searched it, but didn't come up. I came across this by searching "change font". lol. This tool will help alot because mobs try to... y'know... KILL YOU, they also nearly always face you, so you really have a limited perspective on what you've changed, so this could really help more than anything! I am excited, but still really disappointed.
Here is what this program needs(sorry if someone has said any already):
1. Texture mapping EXACTLY how MC does (only Steve gets parts of textures offset w/ this)
2. Sometimes what would be transparency in MC is displayed as black or white
3. Ghast and slime added
4. Give the skeleton his bow
Things I would like to see:
1. ALL mobs
2. Walking animations for all mobs
3. Explosion animation for creepers
4. Firing animation for ghasts
5. Option: auto-load model based on file name (char.png loads steve, skeleton.png loads skeleton ect.)
I feel these changes would turn this player skin viewer into a powerful tool for texturepack devs. Maybe make this 1 program again, but has a checkbox with the caption "Advanced user" that gives the skin viewer options of extended version, too (combining them again)
"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly.
It’s the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out.
I’d rather be in, in a good system. That’s where my discontent comes from:
being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin’ straight ahead.
Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Can you also add a warning dialog if the user specified does not exist or is not premium? that would be cool.

You on Mac or Linux?
because if you're on Linux use wine
this program is small and doesn't take too much processing
it also just runs! no installation required!
so wine should have no prob
if you're on Macintosh,
you're screwed :tongue.gif:
