Used it to design my basement. I use IndustrialCraft so I need to plan for wires and relays and power storage. A tool like this is a must.
But, ok, I designed my basement. Its a 10x10x10 block. But now I want to add things, like a crafting room, but my I can just add rows/columns at the end/layers to the top (or shrink). I can't add anything to the front/top or bottom layer, "pad". Or copy/paste a X by Y area.
Are you thinking of implementing those functions in the near future (or perhaps I haven't found the buttons to do it?)
I'm trying to import schematics to MCEdit, which is one of the reasons I got this program. I have several large structures that I'd like to import. However, whenever I try to import the schematics, I get a loading error message from MCEdit.
Not sure if this is an issue I should discuss with you, or with the support staff on MCEdit.

The "Found 60" tells me you're trying to import a Minecraft Structure Planner file that was just renamed to .schematic. You need to use the Export Schematic... command in MCSP.
I really love this tool and I think it is truly great
But...would you consider updating it again with newer blocks?
I'm working on it right now. Work has been very heavy for six months or so now, so I don't get a lot of time to work on the SP these days. Have faith though - the new blocks are being added, and the application is having the Java 7 bugs slowly erased.

Sounds awesome, can't wait for it!!!

Really like that programme, congratulations!
We plan to do some timelapsing and I think this will be very useful.. :smile.gif:
Happy that it's of use to you. I really wish I had more time to work on it as there are many, many bugs I want to fix and features I want to add. Unfortunately work and family life are absorbing virtually all of my time these days, so progress is pretty slow. There is a new version coming out just as soon as I can fix one really annoying race condition though!
anyone hear anything recently about an update to this? If not, anyone know of any replacements? I loved this program, sucks not to be able to use it for new builds
By the way, your website comes up as the first Search result in Google for plan / minecraft in search, and clicking on the link to your site, promptly attempts to install a Trojan virus, called FakePAV.
Man I just rebuilt my computer I really don't need this kinda stuff happening.
I am experiencing a bug after installing it. I open the program and I see the command bar on top (normal). I go to stuctures and select a type, then the screen goes blank. It then stays blank until I mouse over a button. most of the images and text don't load however. This is a major problem considering I can't see what I'm doing... Help please?

Are you on windows 7?
I'm using that OS and having this problem too. When I had xp, it wasn't like this
This sounds like you have Java 7 installed. This software works fine with Jave 6, but with 7 it causes the exact problem you described. There is a help thread about fixing this issue at the Structure Planner website, http://minecraftstructureplanner.com/forum/. Unfortunatly, the forum looks like it has been temporarily closed, or I would provide the link. He described a method of installing Java 6 and 7 to run MCSP. I hope the updated Java 7 version of MCSP will be out soon.
It already is! It's a native Java application, so all you need to do is download the JAR and run it.

Could you add a feature that exports your creation to a minecraft WorldGeneration? That would be really handy for modders!

Me too. This program has been more trouble than I think its worth, and since I'm running java 6 there shouldn't be any issues.
Well, I can see one. The rest dont show up at all, no matter what I do.
