I'm trying to find something to replace c10t and its google maps script, which is now taking 8 hours (4 for day, 4 for night) to generate on my server. It was fine until the image grew so large my server couldn't store it in RAM :sad.gif:
Of course, mcmap would also have to have some way of exporting sign locations etc. first
I do have a simple request.
Would it be possible to generate all 4 orientations and put them in one deepzoom, the same as night/day/cave mode?
If it cannot be done by the program, is there an easy way to do so by hand?
The new version of mcmap is ready for 1.0.0 btw.
Updated your version by hand myself, but you might want to make a new download.
* This is an 1.8.1 map, and I'm currently generating a map of the current server map. And yes, it takes long to generate such a map, between 24 and 48 hour.
The radius of the map is about 20000 blocks. So the biggest distance you can walk in one direction is 40000 blocks till you start generating new chunks.
Credits go to the WorldBorder plugin for generating the chunks.
When I run my cmd as a scheduled task (every 4 hours). It wont render nether. However when I use the GUI it does render the nether. Here is my code:
mcmapDZ.exe -day -night -cave -nether -skylight -orientation W D:\SERVERS\MineCraft\world
Any idea why this is? I received "The space was left intentionally blank (404)" externally, internally I get the security issue on Firefox and Maxthon. When using the GUI I dont. Yet in the nether folder I see the images.
A bug in the GUI that might not easily be found as most people render maps with the Nether already explored:
If this isn't the case and you tick the Nether option the CLI error message "Error: This world does not have a hell world yet. Build a portal first!" is returned but a stop dialogue is shown (the bug) when the program attempts to move the image (that doesn't exist) from the working folder. The program can still continue so it can be closed normally of course.
Am trying to add 'Markers' with a photo editor and our large map takes many screenshots from mcmapDZ, it is a LOT of work everytime we try to update the world map.
Could it be possible (like in 'Minecraft Topographical Survey' for example) for you to add the ability to Save Entire Map (at max zoom-in) as an image file? (png preferred)
Taking a screenshot from afar gives us a small, low resolution, blurred image, and zooming in means i have to take dozens of desktop screenshots of mcmapDZ as a way of saving the whole thing at max quality and zoom :<
We would greatly (massively!) appreciate a way of saving the whole map render as 1 PNG image file fully zoomed in.
Even if the result means the image is 20,000 x 20,000 pixels in size, it means we can properly work with it in a photo editor, so we can keep our map markers and see the map in full detail, the old fashioned way.
this is our latest map, however since updating to 1.0.0, this mapper has become so old that we simply cant use it (pink 'missing block' stuff everywhere), however it allowed us to save that huge map, in 1 huge image, which means we could work with it very easily.
mcmapDZ looks beautiful and we cant seem to find any other mapper that can do this, so i am here on behalf of our large server to ask if you would be so kind as to consider adding this option, because since our old mapper has been discontinued, we cant save the render in a single-very large image state anymore.
