Please add a feature to world painter where you can specify what structures generate and which ones do not.
That's not possible. It's Minecraft generating the structures, not WorldPainter. All WorldPainter can do is set the flags; it has no control over what Minecraft does after the map has been generated.
Well when I used a custom preset customized world I set ocean monuments to false then I applied the custom world preset to world painter and it still generated ocean monuments.

Yes, so you said. Apparently Minecraft really likes to generate ocean monuments, even when you tell it not to, unless you turn off all structures. I'm not sure what you want me to do about it though?
I just released an update which fixes a few things. You'll get it automatically when you start the snapshot up:
Specifying custom/mod blocks in the material selector now works, for example when defining a Custom Terrain Type.
The Void layer can now be used (which also enables circular worlds) without causing errors at the Export.
*.nbt/Structure custom object files (as exported by Minecraft using Structure blocks) can now be loaded once again (and no longer need access to a Minecraft install to work).
I just released version 2.5.7 of WorldPainter, which fixes a nasty bug that broke the undo/redo mechanism whenever you added another dimension and/or a ceiling dimension. Frankly I'm surprised nobody ever reported it. Does nobody work on multiple dimensions in WorldPainter? Anyway, that problem has now been fixed, and it is once again possible to switch between dimensions (using the View menu or the hotkeys listed there) while keeping the full undo/redo history of each dimension.
You will be offered the new version automatically when you next start WorldPainter, or you can download it from the first post. Let me know if you encounter any problems, and please enjoy!
Export as usual File> Export as Minecraft map> Fill out your options> Export - but only paint the map with blocks and items available in 7.10
Also replace your rock covering options just with stone and don't use andesite, granite etc.
If no block ids past 7.10, you shouldn't have any problems.
Then you must still have non-1.7.10 compatible blocks in your map. Make sure the underground material isn't set to "Stone Mix" for example, which contains diorite, etc.
Hi, I'm trying to make a very large series of islands traced from a map. I know I can overlay the image and trace it out by hand, but is there any way I can have it trace automatically with a script or something along those lines? I saved the map as a gimp file, so I can make the background transparent and isolate each island, if that makes things simpler.
As I said, I can do it by hand, but I just wanted to check to see if there's a quicker way to automate this somehow.
I'm planning on playing a survival map, the thing is that I want to create an Island to be my main base and build everything on it, I don't want it to be huge (200x200 at max.) my question is, can i create the island with world painter and then merge it into the regular survival world?
Yes, that's pretty much how it works out of the box. The default settings when you create a new world with WorldPainter have it located in the middle of a large ocean. Just create your island, make sure the outside edges are all water of a nice depth (20 blocks or so) so that they will blend into the native Minecraft ocean, and Export. That's it. If you build a boat and sail far enough you will encounter land (it's a ways away though).
I just released a new version of WorldPainter in which two bugs with Custom Materials are fixed:
Bug fix: the order of layered Custom Materials is no longer reversed
Bug fix: an error that occurred when creating Custom Materials of type Noise has been fixed
You will be offered the new version automatically when you next start WorldPainter, or you can download it from the first post. Let me know if you encounter any additional problem and please enjoy!
I just released version 2.6.0.RC2 of WorldPainter, a beta of the upcoming release with Minecraft 1.13 support. This is not a snapshot; while the production version will not automatically update to the beta, the beta will eventually become the production version and your settings and .world files will continue to load.
Please install it and test it, and let me know of any problems you encounter, both with the Minecraft 1.13 support and the existing Minecraft 1.2 - 1.12 support, which may also be affected! This is still a beta, so keep your own backups of your .world files and Minecraft maps.
Check if there is already a bug report; add a comment there instead of creating a new one.
Include detailed steps to reproduce the problem. Don't assume any background knowledge; I don't know what you've been doing.
Attach any files I need to reproduce the problem, such as .world files, custom objects files, etc.
Attach the log file (%APPDATA%\WorldPainter\logfile0.txt on Windows).
There are some significant known problems already, such as that random mirroring and rotation of custom objects appears not to work correctly. Note that because it is still in beta, Minecraft 1.13 is not yet the default. You can select it from the 'Map format' drop-down on the Export or New World screens
This release also contains a new Caves layer, which creates more worm-like tunnels that are more like (but still different than) the vanilla Minecraft caves. This is in beta too; please test it and give me feedback. It will keep working, but the results may still look different in the future.
Here are the download links for the beta. It installs as a replacement of the production version, so don't install it on a production critical machine:
I updated the beta to 2.6.0.RC2. The beta does not auto-update, so please download the new version from the links above and install it over the previous version. New in this release:
Implement proper rotation and mirroring for Minecraft 1.13 blocks in Custom Objects
Support tile entities (chests, etc.) from Structures (.nbt files)
Make support for .schem files more robust
Load the icons for the plants in the Custom Plants layer from the Minecraft 1.13 (or later) jar (and not older jars any more)
Bug fix: when duplicating a Custom Object layer, also duplicate the list of objects
That's not possible. It's Minecraft generating the structures, not WorldPainter. All WorldPainter can do is set the flags; it has no control over what Minecraft does after the map has been generated.

When I export map to 1.13 the land does not generate. I spawn in a big ocean where according to world painter there should be land.

WorldPainter does not support Minecraft 1.13 yet. One thing you could try is to open the map in Minecraft 1.12.2 first, and then in Minecraft 1.13.

No, except that it will be a short while yet. However there is an alpha version with Minecraft 1.13 support which you can try out already if you wish, and possibly help me out by testing it and providing bug reports: https://www.reddit.com/r/Worldpainter/comments/9aeixi/alpha_test_branch_released/
