THanks! Do you know how I add subcommands? I tried to add "--config name.cfg" but it says that config is not a valid command..
--config isn't an option you can use in interactive mode. You can only use those listed under the "Interactive Subcommand" heading. Or else stop using interactive mode and specify everything at the command line.
i was trying to follow the instructions in the documentation but either i installed numpty wrong or don't know how to clone the git, i keep getting an error

i stumbled upon this and i was really impressed! once i ran it in my world i realized that it is hard to find the sweet spot regarding the density of dungeons created. in order to get one dungeon per biome what should i do? which parameter should i change to affect the density? the max number of dungeons?
apologies for asking again this question but 105 pages of posts are a bit too much to browse through
thanks in advance
Density is controlled by two settings, max_dist and the number of dungeons you are generating. Consider an area starting at (normally) spawn with a range of max_dist in chunks. MCDungeon will attempt to evenly distribute the dungeons it has been asked to generate in that area.
So, more dungeons and/or smaller max_dist = denser. Less dungeons and/or larger max_dist = sparser.
The other things to consider with max_dist are a. How big is your world file? MCDungeon cannot generate outside the bounds of the existing map and b. How far do you want your players to have to travel?
Getting exactly one dungeon per biome is not possible, unless you want to manually place the dungeons. Which you can do.
You might find the documentation easier to process than the forum thread. We incuded some Frequently Asked Questions in it too: http://mcdungeon-docs.bubblemod.org
MCDungeon is amazing and my players love it. However, I have been unable to get the dungeon maps and treasure hunt maps to work. They just come up blank or look like a regular empty map. BTW, I mean the pre-genned maps the players can find in the dungeons showing the floor plans. I have only been able to get them to work on singleplayer maps. I even downloaded my main world server map (because I am using multiverse on spigot) to my home system to try and get the maps to generate using it, but it still won't work. Any ideas on how I can get that aspect to work? I think it would really make the dungeons the best!
Have you looked at the mapstore option? Interactive mode will prompt you for this value.
I've not used multiverse for a long time, but back under bukkit you had to store maps in your primary world for them to work. This option allows you to set that.

This is almost certainly because the mapstore is not set. Maybe the prompt should be updated to say spigot, since bukkit is effectively dead other than as a part of spigot.
but it states that it is unable to find the save files in c:\users\appdata....
How can I change the saved files path? I have multiple MC versions in c:\minecraft. My saved games for 1.11.2 are in c:\minecraft\1.11\.minecraft\saves

First, thanks a lot for this awsome work ! I really enjoy it and players on my server really like thoses dungeons.
I'm experimenting some troubles when using it on a map on my server.
I've pregenerated my map on my computer and placed some dungeons on it.
Then, I've imported it directly on my server as a farm world.
But logs show lots of error messages :
Could you tell me if there's a way to patch it ?
Is there anything Im doing wrong ?
Thanks in advance for your replies,
Papalbator
What version of Minecraft and MCDungeon are you using?
If you are not using MCDungeon v0.17.1 and Minecraft 1.11.2, ensure that the version of MCDungeon you are using matches the version of Minecraft you are running. See README.txt for that information.
If you are using MCDungeon v0.17.1 and Minecraft 1.11.2, then the best bet is to wait for the the next version of MCDungeon which will be available shortly after Minecraft 1.12 hits. This is going to fix a number of problems with entities. In the meantime, you could switch off hall traps in the configuration file as a workaround.
I can't generate any dungeons. It just says something "Couldn't generate any dungeons, please check max-dist and fill-caves" I am using a 5000 radius circular map with dungeons 3-7 x and z and 2-5 levels. And hard mode.

I set max dist to 5000, And dungeon count to 360.
Am I doing anything wrong here?
What is the source of your map? Was it generated via a tool or script? If so, you may have some luck by changing use_incomplete_chunks in your configuration file to True. Although this setting is not recommended if you can avoid it.
Copying the full output to pastebin and linking to it might help diagnose the problem.
THanks! Do you know how I add subcommands? I tried to add "--config name.cfg" but it says that config is not a valid command..
EDIT:
MCDungeon 0.13.0
Loaded 322 materials.
Loaded 620 items.
Loaded 46 items from NBT files.
Starting interactive mode!
Your save directory is:
C:\Minecraft Server" --config kim.cfg
I cannot find your save directory! Aborting!
Press any key to continue . . .
EDIT2: Now I removed any spaces in my path, and it now says that both --config and -c augments is not recognized..
MCDungeon 0.13.0
usage: mcdungeon.exe [-h] [-v] {interactive,add,list,delete,regenerate} ...
mcdungeon.exe: error: unrecognized arguments: -c kim.cfg
Press any key to continue . . .

can anybody compile the 0.17.1 version for windows for me? i am experiencing issue #394 and can't figure out how to compile the dev build myself
You'd probably have better luck trying to run it in python. Just install python 2.7 and Numpy, then run mcdungeon.py.
Hopefully 0.17.1 will be coming very soon.

can i just say you are my new best friend
You should really thank JiFish. He does most of the work these days.

You designed and built the car, I'm just keeping the oil topped up.

is there a video tutorial for 0.17???
I put this line into the launcher
set appdata=C:\minecraft\1.11
but it states that it is unable to find the save files in c:\users\appdata....
How can I change the saved files path? I have multiple MC versions in c:\minecraft. My saved games for 1.11.2 are in c:\minecraft\1.11\.minecraft\saves
sorry double-post. How can I delete my duplicated entry???
There's never been a video tutorial as far as I am aware. Your best bet is the Downloading and Running documentation.
You want to use the --dir command line option. e.g.
If you are editing launcher.bat this replaces the 3rd line.
