lol same exact mistake as the last guy with a problem..
that is not true his problem was "File 'GuiModScreen.class' conflicts with vanilla and mine is "basemod.class" conflicts with vanilla. I guess that may be the same in some programish way but I am not a progammer so ok. Oh and by the way could it be that I have Mo'creatures already installed? I saw a video on I think Ipodmail showing off plasticcraft and he also had Mo'creatures so I am not sure. ty in advance (again)-zorac56
iPodMail probably didn't install the mods with mcpkg anyway (and I swear he doesn't have a plasticcraft video). And yes, it's probably because you already has mo' creatures installed, cause that requires modloader, therefore you had modloader installed already.
Does that mean that I can not have both? If so I am sad because they are both GREAT mods although I will probably get rid of Mo'creatures if need be.
You can install Mo' Creatures manually after installing stuff with mcpkg. Don't worry though, Mo' Creatures will get added to mcpkg eventually, and then you can enjoy installing it automatically too. :biggrin.gif:

Thank you so much hopefully that will be the only question I need clearing up so I can finally use your fantastic mod. :biggrin.gif:
More people should recognize that this is an amazing tool.
True - i just found this thread by accident and i'm looking forward to try it this evening. I guess i'll use it when it has a GUI, but i'm already excited. :wink.gif:
it has a gui already, as of 0.0.2...

It's actually up to the modders to add it themselves.
This seems really cool I just downloaded it and it eems really nice. I'm not a very tech savvy person so i have ABSOLUTELY no idea what im doing haha. I pretty much click on things like plastic craft and say queue/install (probably not how I work it :biggrin.gif:) but anyway, this seems like it will be very useful once I learn exactly how to use it! haha oh! one more thing, is there a guide or something somewhere that tells how to use this thingy? i looked on the thread but just found words that i dont understand....haha so yah keep updating ill be waiting! :biggrin.gif:
I haven't downloaded this yet, but can I assume that It will have a list of mods that comply with the mod manager, you choose what you want to add, it checks to see if there are any conflicts and if there are none it makes your .jar?
Also I did read that it can update your mods too.
If this is right, this sounds pretty good. I'd definitly try it out.
One thing, if the mod requires another mod, like modloader or the audio mod, does it add it as well?

yes, that's one of the key features :smile.gif:

click the mod you want, click "queue", confirm you want it, wait for them to download, hit run minecraft.
also, the new launcher is out, so I'll be able to finish the part about upgrading minecraft now.

Sounds like this will be really helpful to all of those people saying "HalP i BLACKSCRENED!!!!11111"
And to everyone else who can already install mods. =P
Can't wait 'till it's done!
P.S. Are there plans of a mac version?

When we've finished, MMC will be responsible for supplying mcpkg, which will depend on the modders adding their mods to the database, to be accessed by mcpkg...As far as I understand.
lahwran or someone else might be able to explain it better or something, if I didn't explain it right.
nope. same as there are no plans for a windows or linux version.
there are, however, plans for a java version.
Oh, Derp. I feel stupid now. Thanks! =P

So... how far along is this project? I really, really like Zans Minimap mod, to the point where I'm almost unwilling to play Minecraft without it. Since the latest update I can't make the map work, and was hoping I could once you'd packaged it with this.
Works quite nicely in Linux, since it's a JAR file. Though I have no clue how to add mods to what it can see.

Use a CLEAN minecraft.jar with mcpkg.

So far, I like it. But I have a question. How do I add more repos? With only 8 mods on the list right now, I can't do much.
