So I'm in the process of implementing the newer XML config format supported by Tectonicus instead of the outdated plain text format Minetographer uses now.
Iv'e kinda been putting this off because I simply HATE working with XML files and I though it would take a few days. Actually, I wrote the entire ConfigManager class in about an hour!
This means Minetographer will support the new (and better) config format in 0.7.6. If I work hard and drink plenty of coffee I can push 0.7.6 in a couple days.
On another note:
Is there anything you would like to see changed, added or removed in the next version? I love having feedback! :]

Awesome tool man, if you're taking suggestions I'll throw one out. How about adding a step indicator next to each step (i.e. Loading Chunks 1200/3600 (1/5) ). Not a big deal, just nice to see the stage you're at when rendering when it seems to take a while.

There's pretty much 3 steps, the first two taking up most of the render time. There's a button to see the log as it renders.
Nice app, but everytime I try to render my map the program quit and a log appear.
There's the log:
#

Solutions ?
I noticed you are using a beta version of Java7. This is an error with your JVM. Reinstall Java with the latest version and try again.
I was on Java6 before and always with the same error. Give me some time and I'll give u a new error log.
I did a quick google search on the problem and it seems that a lot of people are getting this error if either your JVM is corrupted or you have a bad stick of RAM. Try running a memory diagnostic here: http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
Also, when I search for the same error specific to the rendering engine Tectonicus, this error only seems to appear if there is something wrong with your graphics card.
This issue is very hard to test. Try testing your RAM and your graphics card extensively.
did you define your minecraft.jar folder manually? Because "D:\Users\Admin\Library\Application Support\minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar" should be "D:\Users\Admin\Library\Application Support\minecraft\bin\"
You have an issue with the default paths for the minecraft, jar Jakester, it always look for a user called admin (wich doesn't exist on my mac, i had to reconfigure that) and in the case of DrFrozenFire, he's running on windows, but windows doesn't use the same path structure (on my windows 7 for exemple, my minecraft.jar is in C:/Users/Erwan/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/bin/) but your default path keeps looking with a mac OSX structure, for a user called admin.
Ok, the original question i wanted to ask when i came here is: How do i render the nether without seeing only the top layer of bedrock?
By the way, i'm running Minetographer on a 1.9 pre-release 5world, and it works great. Not sure it render the new items though.
Keep on the good work,
Thanks.
Sorry for the multi-post.
You can see my map in here: http://erwanleroy.com/glootopia/world/
I have this weird tiling when zoomed out on the server that i don't have when i open the html in local. I don't know if you have an idea of what could be the cause.
also you can see a few glitches in lighting(dark blocks, stairs), i don't know if that's because of Techtonicus or Minetographer.

Yesterday I wasn't able to go back on Java, btw tonight I'll tray to update the graphic drivers, my gfx is on sandy bridge (i3)...
If this doesn't solve the error I'll focus on ram -.-"
So what about texture packs? As creator of the Texture Artists' Union, I find it hypocritical to render the official TAU server in default texturization :tongue.gif:

The next version (0.7.6) will be implementing OrangyTang's new XML config format. So all the features that were broken and deprecated before, should work now.
By default, it will search for your texture packs automatically. OR, you can edit the config.xml file and manually enter the path to your minecraft.jar.
0.7.6 is pretty much done now. All I have to do is test it on a few different machines.
worked like a charm, thanks man!

Just downloaded Minetographer today and it's pretty amazing.

Thx for the answer, i will try that (even though i just copied to exact same files to a FTP server wich shouldn't change anything)
Any suggestions for my questions about the nether?
About the suggestions for what we could like, i think a layered view (terra/nether/caves) on the same map could be awesome.
Thanks
Im working on that for the next release.
