@balloonhead666: At this point, MCS gets the user's home directory then uses hard-coded strings for handling where the Minecraft save directory is from there on each platform. These strings are all in English. On windows, I googled some stuff and i can just get the appdata directory directly (which is a very smart move). Thanks for pointing this out, and if I implement this (and it ends up working... :biggrin.gif:), it should provide a lot more localization support at least for Windows machines.
Really great program! 2 quick things... (I am on a Mac, minecraft 1.3.01)
1. The directory that i want specified to be backed up for me is my server. It is located on my desktop, and it contains a server.properties. If I manually select the folder, MCS works fine, but EVERY TIME I OPEN MCS I NEED TO RESELECT IT :sad.gif: . When I reopen it, it selects the "saves" folder in application support. Is there a way for it to remember the location of my server each time I open it?
2. Support for periodic backups? Like maybe every 30 min the server is open, it automatically backs up? I'm aware that might be impossible but I don't really know a lot about this stuff... :smile.gif:
Otherwise, really good stuff. Best backup program I've found.
I love this program, it's so easy to use. Are you going to be updating it to work with the new unlimited saves system? I really like what you've created so I'm hoping I can keep using it with the latest version of Minecraft. Thanks for writing this :smile.gif:

It would be awesome if it could remember the location of your server (when you select the "server" radial). On both backup and restore. This would save having to browse to the server folder every time a backup is requested. Thanks.
Looking for contributors who would like to enhance MCS! If you are comfortable with Java programming and want to improve the project, let me know via PM or email. I have been swamped lately and have been unable to implement some of the in-demand features. (I didn't even know Minecraft was updated until last week maybe... :biggrin.gif:) I figure who better to ask for help than the users!
To anyone I have not responded to yet (Boxed_Internet, ryseff724, savagehart, gokuman4594, HappeTank, crono141) thanks a bunch for the great feedback! I would like to address everyone's interests in ways to expand upon MCS but I am too busy at the moment.
If a good handful of people start working on MCS, it could become an incredible minecraft community project (and hopefully actually stay somewhat current with Notch's updates!!!). Thanks again everybody for trying it out, and I hope you continue to use the application! :happy.gif:
Are there any updates to make this support worlds beyond 5 created with Minecraft 1.3+ ?
This would be great, i my last save back-up program hasn't been update all 2011, and this looks even more user friendly, but i need the more than 5 saves backup features.
This is weird. I am using your product because frankly no other one will run on my computer. But when it won't select the save directory directly, I input it in manually and it says "No Saves found in Minecraft directory." I have a save, one I really want to back up as my computer is prone to crashing and taking my games with it. Any ideas?

Minecraft Saviour has not been supported for about 1 year. Even if there are only two things to change.
- Allowing any name as worldname instead of World1 .... World5
- Changing the systemvariable for Windowssystems to %APPDATA%.
In April 2011 i forced a pal to program a new backupprogram for minecraft in a way i liked to have it. He did a fine job and i still use it with all outcoming versions.
It just looks in %appdata%/.minecraft/saves and backups your chooseable world with date and timecode in the name. Restoring is also simply done with choosing your savegame with date and time and 1-Click.
Maybe i should start a new topic for that this weekend
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\.minecraft\saves
or
%appdata%\.minecraft
open up cmd and type
If it finds it, i do not know, and you will need to ask JS. If it doesn't find it though, copy the .minecraft folder into %appdata%

the APPDATA variable is always the same in every language it points to the right directory structure. Minecraft itself does it that way.

(Where X is 1-5 )?
And be able to handle more than 5 worlds?
Even if I have to back up the entire Saves folder, it'll be worth it.
(PS. this for a non server game)
Thanks
Quick fix:
Make a text document that is named in that save folder and then have mcs back it up like a server.
The extension has to be .properties NOT a .txt for it to work.
i think this was the console log

Also can you make sure that the version number of the program is visible in the about dialog?
