Hello. I really wanted to use mods on my Macbook Pro running 10.6.6
You don't need MMM to run mods - you can always fall back on the old-fashioned way of just splatting .class files into minecraft.jar.

I didn't know what to open the sh file in so I opened it in terminal because the default application for it was Xcode.
That's correct, run it in terminal. If you rename it to MMM_minecraft.command, apparently it'll run by double-clicking in the Finder too.

This is what happened when I tried to open the .sh file in Terminal.
ChaoticTracks-MacBook-Pro:~ Peyton$ /Users/Peyton/Desktop/Minecraft/Minecraft\ BETA/Minecraft\ Mod\ Version/MinecraftModManager/MMM_minecraft.sh ; exit;
Using JAVA_HOME environment variable value
/Users/Peyton/Desktop/Minecraft/Minecraft BETA/Minecraft Mod Version/MinecraftModManager/MMM_minecraft.sh: line 16: /bin/java: No such file or directory
logout
[Process completed]
So, it seems to think you have a JAVA_HOME env variable set, but that its value is empty. Odd, since the .sh file tests if "$JAVA_HOME" == "" to detect if it's set or not.
Gah! I just looked again in the .sh file, and some .bat-isms crept in. Sorry!
Please change the 3rd line of the .sh file to read
if [ "$JAVA_HOME" = "" ] ; then
instead of
if [ "%JAVA_HOME%" = "" ] ; then

.bat file is for Windows.

Check out my Minecraft Mod Manager, before official modding support makes it redundant in a few weeks. Better late than never!
Alright, I'm new to having multiple mods running at once, i'm used to just a simple install haha, but I recently downloaded the biodome mod that was released by the guy who did modloader, except I don't always want the biodome mod on haha, I like to play regular minecraft too. So i decided to look into some mod managing mods (lol), and this seemed most promising... Except mc blackscreens. I have the biodome mod, more creeps and wierdos mod, and modloader on. The biodome mod worked, but the more creeps one wouldn't, and modloader won't load either. I went through the command prompt, and found some errors (i'm running W7, btw, and installed modloader the way you suggested for us to do in the opening post). Here's the whole text from command prompt.

Would be great if you could help. It seems like the .mmm file I made may not have worked. Not exactly the best at the whole "do it yourself" thing haha. Any suggestions?
This isn't working right for me; of the easily-testable mods I have (Scuba Diving, Redstone Block, Death Chest, and Convenient Inventory), only ConvInv is working. Does ModLoader.zip go in mmm_mods, or do I extract it into minecraft.jar? Either way, it doesn't seem to work.

Just started using this; REALLY great tool, although I do have one question. Normally the mod Too Many Items will detect blocks and items added by other mods and add them to its list of selectable inventory items. Is there any way I can replicate this feature under the Mod Manager?
Hey, Im running a macbook with Snow leopard. I have no idea what im doing wrong. I put the MMM contents in the minecraft folder with the .jar one im suppose to download. I open the .sh folder with terminal and I get this:

Michael-Vandykes-MacBook:~ 78uh$ /Users/78uh/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/MMM_minecraft.sh ; exit;
Using JAVA_HOME environment variable value
/Users/78uh/Library/Application Support/minecraft/MMM_minecraft.sh: line 16: /bin/java: No such file or directory

Hi guys!
My minecraft mods does not work at all. I have downloaded and installed the Elemental Arrows mod, which must supposedly add recipes into the game. I have installed it just as I was told: inserted the files into micraft.jar. Launched the gaame - the game run properly but the claimed recipes did not work. I then injected the mod files into minecraft-1.7.2.jar and minecraft-1.7.3.jar - nothing. Then I installed the Mod Manager, installed it properly, added the mod in zip format into the mods folder - nothing. Even though on the loading screen it said that the mod has been red properly and applied.
I use Windows 7. Please someone help cuz I feel absolutely desperate.
