well, i played this map on 1.7.3 or 1.8.1, and then got bored after like, a week. all around its a good map/mod, but update it to frickin 1.2.4 man! this map/mod is really good, but really outdated! and no, it wont convert to anvil.
i try it. it works: converting to 1.1 and then to 1.2.3.
i convertet and uploaded a big map if someone needs: http://www.mediafire...uqeqacnuil4iq54 (for Minecraft 1.2.3)
just extract to the saves-folder.
This link is a map for 1.2.4 as well, though I believe it's already pre-generated with no options. Good seed except I cannot find for the life of me any cows/pigs etc. Food is a big issue. NEVER thought myself banking on apples dropping from trees! But I had to survive on apples alone. Needless to say, they were more rare than I had hoped.
Couldn't find any seeds for wheat. I think you can only find them in wild grass... I have yet to see wildgrass.
Until a proper generator appears, this map is very difficult (just to keep your hunger bar satisfied)! Until then check out the quoted link above for a trial run. Maybe give yourself a wheat/melon seed to start. This would make it more enjoyable, that's for sure!I forgot about fish... if you can kill couple of spiders to get some string, FISHING would be a key component to this map type. There are plenty of water planets to choose from!
Awesome looking map! I have a problem though. How does a Mac user such as myself open it? I tried opening the world generator exe. file but nothing happened other than this pop-up of jumbled text. Do you need some special program to run it? Please help, I really want to play this map.
1. Unzip PlanetoidMapGenerator to its own folder
2. Run PlanetoidMapGenerator.exe
3. Enter a folder name, a map side in chunks, and whether you want water below or an open sky map
4. Copy the world folder created to either the "world" folder in your Minecraft folder (for SMP) or the
Note: Using an open sky map for multiplayer is a bad idea just now, since if you fall, you just full forever and don't die. Also while I can run open sky maps fine in single player, I've had some performance issues running them as a server.
I tried to install to single player ran the exe created a new folder in the saves then placed the generated folder in the other folder but it is still not coming up
I mean to take a look at updating this to 1.2.5 this weekend. I might just rewrite the generation logic against my latest engine - that's possibly easier than integrating this thing with my new interfaces. It seems like it would be cool to get this one using the full height of the new maps though...
