Heh, it's fine, no worries. I've been a little stressed by the app breaking again, and then I've seen your message on top of it.
Additionally it really does make sense how it is treated, now that I read your explanation. Thanks for the info. :smile.gif:
P.S. Out of curiosity, how did you stumble across this thread? I thought it was buried deep down in the pile of old threads.
I was browsing through the Programs and Editors page on the Wiki and found my way here (and to several other app threads)
Well, I'm still hoping for the owner(s) of the redstone serverlist to atleast give me a response wheter they'll allow easier access for external apps. Because as it is right now it'll be quite inefficient. :/

Not working atm, and will not get updated in the near future, sorry.
Little update:
WedTM released a basic API and gave me access to it. Since my experience with web APIs is quite limited it'll take a while for me to fully understand how to use it. Additionally I'm really busy with school atm, but I will try to update as soon as possible.

Little update:
Finally started working on it again. I decided to rewrite it, which made me kinda loose interest for a while. It's coming along nicely though and I hope to get it finished by the beginning of next week.
As you see the GUI has changed quite a bit, you are now able to place the windows wherever you want and as big as you want them.
P.S. Actually I'm not even sure if people are using it, but heh, I've learned a lot creating this app so I guess it was worth the time I invested.

If it'll let me store a short list of common servers I visit and make it easy for me to go between them instead of having to memorize an IP address for one, I'd be down for using it.
I just stumbled across this via the Minecraft Wiki and it seems to be closest to what I need.
Version 2.0.1 is out.
Completely rewrote the app, fixed many bugs and introduced some new bugs.
Faster and more secure downloading of data. Thanks to the guys at www.mcserverslist.net
New GUI conecept. Choose which windows you want, where you want it, and how big you want it.
Some functions don't work yet: You can't filter the serverlist yet, website and thread URL of the servers isn't downloaded yet, and you can't sort the favourites yet.

Yeah, I thought about this as well. I'll add it in with the next version, expect it to get released in the weekend.
Some other things which will be done then:
A function to check wheter a update is available.
Possibility to add a URL to a forum thread and/or a website of your favourites.
You will however not be able to use the filters yet. This requires additions to the API I use to get the data currently. I already talked with the guys at mcserverlist.net , but it seems they are quite busy at the moment.

Version 2.2.0 is out
You can now search the serverlist for either the name or the IP of a server.
Added a function to check for updates. Press "Check for updates" in the main menu bar.
If you press the button to start Minecraft and are not using the auto-connect feature of this app, it will automatically save the ip of the selected server in the connect textfield of Minecraft.
Increased the timeout duration. This way it should be possible to access the data from mcserverlist.net even when it is under heavy load. This is only a temporary solution, the owner of MCserverlist.net is working on improving performance.
Fixed a bug which caused a crash when adding favourites.
Fixed a bug which did not display the correct server when adding favourites.

Excellent App for browsing and saving your favorite server. Thanks for all your hard work it is very appreciated.
One thing i noticed is the servers port number does not seem to copy over unless you select the "connect to server automatically" and it connects fine. If you have that option turned off only the IP address is copied into the multiplayer window and not the port number.
Thanks for your feedback, this shows me that all the time I spent on this wasn't "wasted". :smile.gif:
And yes you're right, the server port was not getting copied over correctly. It will be fixed in the next update, which will also bring a history of visited servers. (Probably in a week or so.)

Little heads up: I'm working on support for different languages and user-made translations at the moment. After I've done this I'll add a server history.
You can expect a new release with these two features in the next two weeks.

It is for Minecraft beta only.
Well, theoretically you could use the favourites function to save classic servers as well, but you could not use the features like connecting to the servers, so it'd be pretty worthless.

I am aware of the bug which doesn't allow the application to retrieve the information from mcserverlist.net .
This is a bug of mcserverlist.net where I can't do much about, sorry.
The next version of this application will contain proper handling in case this ever happens again. Until then I can only advise you to use the offline mode.
