I just uploaded an export containing all the JAR files here. Try that and let me know what happens.
tried this with 64bit java software and it got the same error
gonna try installing the 32bit now
edit:
works fine after installing java and java3d 32bit
tnx!
Yes, the Java 3D installer gets very confused about where it should be installing its files. Part of the problem is that there are so many places that the jar files and dll's could go, depending on how many jre's/jdk's etc you have installed. Java3D is covered by the GPL with the linking exception, so it should be possible for me to put together a distribution package that contains everything needed. I'll take a look at that shortly.
Meanwhile, it seems that 32-bit Java and Java 3D is the way to go.
Ok, I am mainly posting this so I can find this when i get home since I'm at work...BUT...this is absolutely amazing! Sort of like "I should start a new world now that I have this" amazing!

Hehe, well thank you. I hope that you get it all installed and working easily... it can certainly be a bit painful getting Java and Java 3D set up correctly right now (as you can probably gather from reading this thread and the thread on Reddit!)
I've actually only ever had one world on my SSP game, and have slowly populated the world with buildings that I've designed using this application (the model that gets implemented next is basically the structure that I want to build next. That giant suspension bridge will be going between my original land-mass and the edge of a giant chunk error when I have time to actually play Minecraft rather than write code for the MSP!) The last big building was the Cobbledome Complex, which you can see a bit of here: http://lankybrit.imgur.com/the_spawn_trap#7nsFg The giant spawn trap in the background was also designed using the software, but unfortunately before I'd implemented save/load, so those designs have gone to the land of wind and ghosts now.
Could not find the main class: minecraft.planner.gui.StructurePlanner.
Program will exit.
I get the feeling I'm doing something very basic very wrong. Please point me in the right direction!
OK - let's try this:
Open a cmd or terminal window.
cd <whatever directory MinecraftStructurePlanner.jar is in>
java -cp MinecraftStructurePlanner.jar minecraft.planner.gui.StructurePlanner
Either the application will start, or you'll get a huge stack trace appear. Copy and paste any stack trace to here and I'll try to diagnose further.
Cheers,
LankyBrit.

It's saying that it can't find the Java 3D install. Uninstall EVERYTHING java from your system, install the 32-bit Java JRE, then the 32-bit Java 3D install. That should fix it.
I feel I must apologise for the quality of the Java 3D/Java 32-bit versus 64-bit interactions. They are a giant, royal pain in the **** that nobody should have to go through.
When I open the .jar file right after I download it, it says error..
Going to need a bit more than that to help I'm afraid :smile.gif: Can you read the previous messages in this thread, try the Java/Java 3D uninstall and reinstall, and if that doesn't work then run the application using the command line supplied above and post the stack trace/error.

This program is great! I have a suggestion to make building layer by layer much easier. Is it possible to see the layer below grayed out? For example, say you are working on Layer 2 and you see grayed out translucent blocks from layer 1 to build upon.
Right now you have to count squares to line up blocks on different layers. Maybe adding a grid numbering A,B,C... and 1,2,3... on the axes would be great too.

Anyways, very cool application.
It used to do that. I noticed last night that I seem to have introduced a bug that's screwed up the 'gray layer' on the plans. I'll see if I can figure out what I buggered up this weekend.

I'm from France, I don't speak very well english. Sorry.
How to add layers please ?
I don't find a list of command for that great application... Help please !!!
Bonjour!
If you are talking about adding layers in 'Freeform', you can't do that yet. You're currently limited to the width/depth/height that you initialized the grid to in the first place, or the size of the structure that you loaded in to it. Resizing will be coming in an update soon.
im having trouble getting the java 3d to work can someone plz help me
i am a complete n00b
If you read through this thread you'll find a whole bunch of messages about diagnosing and fixing the Java 3D issues. I'm going to take a guess, and say that you need to :
1) Uninstall all your Java installed versions.
2) Install 32-bit Java JRE
3) Install 32-bit Java 3D

Best suggestion: You ask the developer nicely to fix that bug :smile.gif:
