great program but i have a few questions. whenever i try to do a sky map i load it and its a zommed in and pixelated. also my renders always look grainy like this.(view in full screen to get the real effect)
i heard people say that you can leave it rendering forever if you wanted to but mine has a time limit and it stops renderingP.S. you can really see the grainyness in the lightand thank you for your time im not trying to hate i just see everyone elses look better
are the light rays a setting? like in the first picture it show the light rays.....i cant seem to see them....if so, where are they and how would i make them more noticable?

In the "Render Controls" window, go to the "Sky" tab. Check "Volumetric Fog."
Then go to the "Lighting" tab. Ensure that "Enable Sunlight" is checked, and point your view in the 3d preview to where you want the sun to be in the sky. Play around on the "Sun Yaw" and "Sun pitch" sliders. ("Yaw" is basically time of year, and "Pitch" is basically time of day)
Some of my first renders. I intend to make some better structures to render later. (Maybe re-create IRL scenes in minecraft?) All I can say is, Epic program, bro. I also like the chunk-deletion capabilities. Very useful if you have used all resources by your base.

I should have loaded more chunks on the castle, but i didnt, so the water kinda derped. But its not worth another 3 hour render to me.
EDIT: OH YEAH! the texture is Dokucraft: The saga continues (Light)

Nice renders!
Don't worry I didn't notice the missing chunks until you said something.

I'm a Java programmer, and I'm a terrible artist. Anything else, just ask me.
Beautiful.
Would love to see more of this build. Is it on a server?
no but i have a channel showing hogwarts! the official trailer for upcoming seven+ adventure maps will be up within the month hopefully
here is the link
thats why this program is important! perfect little pictures for the forum topic!
and yes it is on a server, contact me on that channel if you would like to join the whitelist

I'm having a really weird issue, I'm trying to render an image at 8640x15360 and it won't accept the resolution, it just freezes and doesn't apply the change. Any ideas how to fix this?
I assume one of two things is happening:
1: Your computer is simply crashing from trying to do that.
2: Is actually is rendering, but it essentially freezes due to the load.
Due to this, I can only come up with two solutions:
1: Get a really fancy render farm with a total of (a lot) of memory and (a lot) of processing power (not very practical)
2: Render a smaller image. The highest HD televisions are only 2000*x3500*, and most HD monitors are around 1000*x2050*, but MOST HD monitors are only 720x1080. (Not to mention the older SD monitors, which aren't even that high.)
In total, I would say that there isn't really any reason to render an image that big.
The renders I do are usually 1000x1618 (Golden ratio FTW), but you probably only need 720*x1000* to 1500*x2000*
For me, this resolution takes three to six hours, depending on the visual settings I apply. I just have it render overnight.
I think this program is amazing. I've made a few nice renders with it too, like this one:
- snip -
I would totally recommend this. But, where can I find some sky maps? Google gives me nothing when i search for them...

Wow nice renders.
Make them larger sizes though
Forums won't let me make them bigger, they are already 160 mb each.
Upload them to a website like tinypic and just use this:
In the "Render Controls" window, go to the "Sky" tab. Check "Volumetric Fog."
Then go to the "Lighting" tab. Ensure that "Enable Sunlight" is checked, and point your view in the 3d preview to where you want the sun to be in the sky. Play around on the "Sun Yaw" and "Sun pitch" sliders.

Thanks!
Make sure that "Enable Emitters" under the "Lighting" tab is enabled. The higher (further right) the emitter intensity, the brighter it is.
thanks
and i am most happy i mod this topic!why? because it makes my hogwarts look epic

Checking off 'Volumetric Fog' should do the trick.
This ought to help:

Nice render!
What I use for skymaps is the Better World Generation 3 modtlol i thought you meant skyLAND maps.
this website has some skymaps you can use.
Again; Rendering and image that big is unessecary. If you want to render an HD image, I would reccomend something around 1600:900.
