Hey guys, I was wondering if you can convert biovox files to objs or other 3d model files so that I can use these now voxelized models in a program like Blender or Cinema4d.
Hmmm. I put in "binvox mountain.obj -d 120 -t wrl" and I got an error that, along with a long list of things, said "Unknown voxel file type." Did I put it in wrong? I have used binvox before, but I have never gotten this error. Could you perhaps let me know what I am doing wrong?
I think I didn't enable that option for the public version,
I should though
I may get round to getting an updated version online,
but it'll take a while (Christmas travel coming up)
Do you think it will be done by the end of January? Oh, and as a temporary fix, do you know of any program that can convert minecraft shematics to 3d models?
Thank you guys for both the program and the tutorial. Both were clear and work extremely well! Thank you so much for this tool that saves time and allows us to be more creative!
ok. i'm quickly realizing that i suck at this whole binvox thing because what i'm trying to do is should be incredibly simple, yet i'm failing terribly. i've tried building this in MCEdit, with Legos, in Photoshop pixel by pixel, and everything else i cand find, but nothing works. i hate to ask this, but is there anyone who can do this for me? i don't want to seem lazy or anything.
i'm building Atlas, but instead of holding a sphere on his back, he's holding a giant cube, which is the easy part. but that's also boring looking, so the hard part is that i'm trying to rotate it on all three axis'. or is it axeses? axii? anywho, so, if you have a cube, the side facing you is rotated upwards about 30 degrees or so, the left side is rotated up about 10 degrees, and the whole thing is rotated on it's vertical axis a few degrees also.
i've built the cube [which is about 26 meters cubed], and have rotated it on one axis, but trying to do the other two axiseses is near impossible. so i was going to try importing it as a schematic by creating it in binvox, but apparently, i r teh suxxorz.
attached are a couple of pictures of my half built Atlas. as soon as i can get a cube on his back, i'll build him some arms. if anyone can help, it'd be immensely appreciated. pm me if you need more info or anything.
Hey, i dont know if anyone is still watching this thread but i was wondering what is the command to make the binvox thing a schematic.
I have tried many commands but i cant get it to work.
My .obj folder is called Dragon.obj if anyone could give me the command that i could copy and paste into Terminal that would be great.
Thx
I have a Huge problem here. If i go to cmd , Most people will get the folowing --> C:/users/name>
But i will get --> C:/Documents and Settings/name>
I can't convert anything and i don't know what to do, Please PM me so i can live happy again.
Once you are in the command window you can change directories to the one where your binvox is located using the cd command. such as:
cd c:\programfiles\binvox\project
or whatever is accurate for you.
I'm currently looking for a Stargate Atlantis the city's model, but I can't find one... It be great if someone could help me out! Any Stargate Ship models would be great too for other builds! Thanks!
When Im downsampling with -down and using -ri to remove internal voxels they are not removed. This only happens when I am using downsampling though, does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for reporting, this turned out to be a bug where certain lookup tables were not re-initialized after downsampling
(so just about every operation that came after was broken..).
Edit: a new version with a fix has been uploaded (for Mac/Linux/Windows, version 1.34).
Edit 2: odd how the above post is from March 28, and the "new post" email was sent July 9th...
