Hey, I just downloaded Minecrafter, and I seem to be having trouble editing the blocks. Whenever I press "copy selections", it says "0 selections copied to clipboard." I don't know if there's something wrong with the program, my computer, or if I just don't know how to properly use Minecrafter.
My Computer is a Windows 7, and I downloaded the Windows 32-bit (since the 64-bit didn't function on my computer, something about Java) minecrafter program. I've not really tampered with mods before now.
I did not go through all of the previous posts, so if someone mentioned something about this before, I apologize for re-posting the question.
Copying block selections are for copying selections between mod packages (i.e. in your case, not applicable). For within a mod package, just double click and save. Check the documentation and tutorial on the website for details.
First, thank you for this excelent program. I have a minor bug report though.
When I use Minecrafter everything works great until the very end where I go to close Minecrafter. The window goes away but the dock icon remains and shows as "application not responding".
Weird, I thought I already solved that issue. Does it happen all the time when you start up and close Minecrafter?
If you mean me, it happens every time I use Minecrafter to load modded Minecraft. I use "temporary" mode, and so far have only used one mod (Minecart Mania).
If I run Minecrafter and close it without loading Minecraft, it closes normally.
Yep, thanks for the extra info. Like I said before, I thought I resolved the issue, but it's weird it has somehow come back to haunt me :tongue.gif:. I'm using the same version of Mac OS as well without issue, so this is going to be a hard one to fix :sad.gif:
So, I click launch minecraft, then temporary, then I select minecraft.jar and click open. Minecraft never launches-it goes from "compiling" to "waiting for you to finish playing" to "cleaning up" in about half a second, with no input from me. Minecraft is not launched, but minecraft.jar.original0 is created.
I'm using Minecrafter_1_2_0_win32.exe With W7 64 bit(because the 64 bit version of your program says something about me having the wrong version of java)
Minecraft by itself works fine, I can generate a world and punch a cow.
I'm not sure if this has been addressed before, or if I'm doing something horribly wrong, but any help is appreciated.
a for you!
bacdaemon: Try installing the 64-bit JRE and JDK executables. You'll find they're quite free, and readily available on Sun's Java site.
Prelithe: It is my understanding that your program is using 7zip to read the zip files of the mods. I am having a little difficulty understanding something...
CreeperDaReaper's one stop mod shop (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=93171) releases the mods in a collection of 7z files. These files don't seem to work right, even in the most recent version of Minecrafter (1.2.0). I wind up having to undo the 7z and put them in a .zip file.
I understand that the two use different formats for storage / recall / etc, and your program saves mod collections inside .zip files, and not 7z files.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this just an unavoidable general incompatibility?
Thank you.

That's odd, I'm using Minecrafter 1.2.0 Win32 and have 31 7zip's from the One Stop Mod Shop, 2 RAR's, and 15 ZIP's running at once using a temporary launch. Everything seems to be working fine for me.
Just thought I would mention this to confirm that it's not a general problem with the entire program.
@bacdemon - On launch, select the Minecraft LAUNCHER, not JAR. The JAR is for Linux only. To undo your changes, go to the options tab and uncheck "Remember Minecraft Launcher Path". Click the main tab & launch again. Now select the proper Minecraft launcher.
@SycoPrime - Which ones did you use? I tried a couple from that pack, and they opened fine.
I'm sure it's not what I'm using, but how I'm using it.
I extracted the AllMods.7z directly, once, to a folder.
Following Creeperdareaper's structure from there, I have several folders with 7z files inside of them.
I've been trying stuff for the last while to see what works and why, and I'm now officially stumped. I upgraded minecrafter from 1.1.6 to 1.2, and minecraft from 1.2.3_04 to 1.2.6, and now things won't even work the way I was doing them before...
I have Risugami's Modloader directly above minecraft.jar in the list, which I assume means its the first mod to be loaded. I used "add file" and added the 7z for it.
I've been attempting to test with 303's mods, as I figure they tend to be the most compatible, but mods seem to work oddly --
I can't craft a grappling hook, or any of the arrows.
More Worlds mod doesn't work, but Stop Resizing The UI does.
I've even tried extracting the 7z's and re-zipping them, but that's not doing it now.
I'm launching using temporary install, and I just tried semi-permanent. Even having backed up, I don't particularly want to try permanent.
The only two options I have checked are to remember path, and delete meta inf. Everything else is unchecked.

I've got it! I checked the layout of the 7zip's from the OSMS. A lot of them have a main folder in the .7z that is just the name of the mod. If you select the mod once it's loaded into Minecrafter, click "Base Folder", then select the right folder from there it should work! For 303Arrows the base folder that should be selected is "303Arrows/".
I don't know why CreeperDaReeper packs them like that? Good thing Minecrafter has a nice, easy, one step way of working around it! I guess just have to check exactly what the structure for the mod is and work with that. There are some where I've even had to use the file alias feature in Minecrafter to get things to work right.
Kudos to Prelith for the many wonderful features of Minecrafter!
Thanks for that OpalMonkey! A true expert on Minecrafter :tongue.gif:. I just assumed everyone read the tutorial and documentation to the letter :tongue.gif:
OpalMonkey, thank you very much! (I can play again! :smile.gif:)
I realize now that when I was repacking from 7z to zip, I was circumventing that folder. And the reason why nothing was working because ModLoader was suffering from exactly that, as I repacked other stuff, and not it.
I feel fairly stupid, but I did read the documentation! :sad.gif:
It just didn't occur to me exactly why what I was doing was necessary to make things work. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle (I'm fairly certain the other half is building moats to keep creepers out).
Indeed, many thanks to Prelithe for creating such a wonderful program!
I have a separate issue that is significantly less alarming, but maybe there's a solution for it, too :smile.gif:
I have tried to launch INVedit as the external program, but when it should launch, I just get an immediate "INVedit has stopped working" error. I even tried launching Minecrafter from the console (java -jar as an exe, I admittedly didn't try it with minecrafter as a jar), and got nothing in the console. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit, the 64-bit version of Minecrafter, and an updated 64-bit JRE and JDK I'm fairly certain I updated the 32-bit JRE to the latest, but did so before the 64 (which, side note, somehow rendered 32-bit Minecrafter 1.1.6 inoperable, but I'll take 64-bit where I can get it :tongue.gif:).
That having been said, I have a few requests:
Is it possible to change the minecraft.jar this thing loads? I backed up my 1.2.3_04 jar (for mods), and it would be easier to load a mod package, rather than do renaming manually.
Would it be possible to save the most recently selected mod package to a config file, and the last used launch method, so that the launch button could be a single-click launch? It's really terribly minor for me as a user, but I figure as long as I'm nagging, I may ask anyway. I apologize for any nuisance I cause.
@ SycoPrime - Glad everything is working now :smile.gif:.
About loading custom minecraft.jars. What you could do is load the 1.2.3_04 JAR as a mod. I haven't tried it myself, but having a older minecraft JAR (renamed as a zip, just add .zip, no need to repackage) should technically replace all the current JAR files, as long as you have older minecraft.jar just above minecraft.jar.
Your second request can be added in the next version.

On another note, I've fixed the Linux issue with the export packages. For those who don't really understand what "executable mod packages" are, check out this blog post: http://minecrafterapp.wordpress.com/2010/12/06/executable-packages-fully-multi-platform/
