Since backups only contain the files that were changed, would going back several saves result in some files not being reset properly?
IE
Backup1 contains changes in region A
Backup2 (older) contains changes in region B
If I went back to Backup2, wouldn't changes in region B reset but not A?
Also, this utility doesn't easily let me cleanup/delete worlds, as they get restored later unless I manually delete all backups of that world (and it is tricky to find/select only the files of a specific world).
To the people complaining, you are paying a dollar for convenience instead of trying to setup a task in the task scheduler or batch yourself.
For a single dollar, I think its worth it. I will say I understand peoples abhorrence to paying for anything though.
Just reminds me of paying for a automated car wash vs just washing the car yourself. You pay for the convenience.
You make it sound like setting up a task in task scheduler is similar to going out and washing your car. It's a couple of clicks vs. a couple of clicks, and not something like say, getting a machine to wash your car vs. expending energy and time to wash it yourself.
Maybe if backing up your save meant manually copying hundreds of files individually, I could see this being a convienience. But that isn't so. I'm sure it's a decent program that works as advertised, I just don't think it's worth anything but free to have a program... xcopy my saves folder. (and timestamp it?)

By popular demand, the current backup routine is going away in favor of a routine using various .zip files. As it works now, the main backup folder should be used to restore your game files if for example you burn your entire world with lava as these are persistent changes to the environment. You then you could use an older backup sub folder to restore to a point previous state with no issues.
Many changes are underway for the next release that will address the majority of the "ease of use" issues everyone has reported.
I decided to wait for Notch to release his Halloween update to see any major changes were being made to the file system that might cause conflicts with MAU. I have most of the code working and tested versions of windows and I should be releasing soon.
All I have to say is people like to get things for free because hey, who doesn't love enjoying the hard work and devotion that someone puts in for you for nothing. If all I have to pay is 1$ to say "hey man I know you don't know me but this program makes my life on this game easier/awesomerrr than it would have been without you so thanks bro". Thanks for the DL and keep up the good work bro. Ignore the hate and keep making Minecraft epic.
Am I reading this right? I have to pay to do a CTRL-C and a CTRL-V automatically? Sorry, going to stick with Treasure Chest for now. Put out a demo version if this program has some sort of magic features. Right now I can get the same thing done without dealing with payment.

Hey, guys.
Beta = released to the public.
Minecraft Alpha is Beta.
And don't turn this statement into an argument, please.

Once you stop riding him he can try to blow you again.
I am not buying this ********. You just put some crap together people do way better mods and stuff for free. You can just go **** your self. Ill just download this from warez. And btw there are way better utilitys for free too.
Umm... To be honest there's many more programs out there that are free that are like this, Not saying that a dollar is a bit too much but really there's free programs out there that do this sooo.... Also I can just do this manually pretty easily, better yet I could just make a batch file to do it for me so in my opinion this program is useless unless it's free.
I would suggest going back to shareware or something cause in all honesty I would never pay for a program that I can just do manually by myself. If it was shareware I would be more than willing to download this just for the nice gui.
Going to have to join the growing mass that says the $1 fee in an otherwise free mod world is a no go. Also the fact that you promoted your product on another backup utilities page was just rude as their utility works fine and people were having small issues, not looking for something else.
I understand the need for donations and your program does look decent in that it's feature-filled and growing it seems but in a community comprised of entirely free packs/mods, even $1 seems steep when there are free alternatives. Forced donations aren't donations :wink.gif:

Well said. =D I lol'd at the last part "Forced donations aren't donations ;)".
asuming your a nice guy =) . but ShareCash is a really scummy and inacurate way to do this.
Half the time you fill in the fourms they FORCE you to, the link wont be abailiable.
its a scam more or less.
I'm getting a "Backup.ini was not found" dialogue each time I launch. I have checked the admin rights (Win7) but no effect. Only does it with the load backup, not with the close backup?
Check your PM's =)
I've done the same and am also getting the "Backup.ini was not found" issue. Could you possibly share with us how to fix this issue? I'm on Windows 7 64-bit and I purchased the backup on Apr 6th. Thanks!

Thank you all for your support and patience! =)
There were around 3 or more other backup utilities when i posted, now there are like 6+
Just going off of estimates from memory, but there's plenty
