I'm not sure if anyone suggested this idea yet, I did not read all 165 pages. I think a rune that could enchant boots to have you run faster or just a rune to make the player run faster would be nice to have. Not sure if that is possible.
Also a rune that could enchant an item to destroy any block instantly (preferably TNT and obsidian). I know there are other mode or plugins that could destroy blocks but runecraft could be that go-to mod for these things.
Superllama, are you playing portals? hehe.. just wondering if i should tell people in my server to not bother updating for a week or not, lol. This mod decides when my server gets updated :smile.gif: Thanks for the awesome mod! I don't mind waiting, I'm just curious
Unfortunately, yes, I am... zeerix isn't though. He's got it ported and everything so technically I can release it right now, but I think I should try to fit another rune in first. I'd add portals (for obvious reasons) but I don't want to mess with *bzzzt* momentum, a function of mass and velocity, which is not conserved between server/client :tongue.gif:
hes trying to work on another rune first whilst playing portals....as much as some of our servers depend on runecraft, it has been stated two pages ago that he will get it out eventually. just gotta be patient.
and forgive me if im coming on too strong, i just know there's alot of ppl that keep asking the same thing so things get lost in other posts and hard to see...just putting this here for everyone else who's wondering, as i myself am hoping for the release soon seeing as 5 public projects are put on hold and a couple characters stranded until runecraft works again.
Before anyone says anything more about lightning rods, let me explain to you what they do and what they don't do.
THEY DON'T ATTRACT LIGHTNING
This is a common misconception that EVERYONE thinks is true, but in fact, is false. Lightning rods are made to divert the lightning AWAY from it, not towards it. If you look this up, you can see the positive and negative poles in the sky and the lightning rod, and the ground to show you why this is the way it is. Thank you for reading, just wanted you guys to stop trying to make lightning rod runes to attract lightning, because they don't.

Not sure what device you're thinking of, but it's not a lightning rod.
"Lightning rods convey the current from a strike to the ground or water via a low-resistance conductor. A lightning strike is thus said to be diverted from the protected structure. However, diversion is a misnomer. Rather, the lightning rod widely used attracts and intercepts a strike that terminates near a protected structure."
Just recovered from my strange mood (Dwarf fortress people will understand-- basically I couldn't think straight, due to portal, for a week-- and was working mindlessly on low-level character parse algorithms for a different project. It works now, so I can return to normal.)
Ready to release 2.6, but I still feel like I should sneak at least one tiny rune in first... although I guess zeerix's updates to the codebase (true multiworld support) along with 1.5 support are enough. I guess I can wait for 2.6.1 to add something, no sense holding back when I'm perfectly capable of releasing now.

My ankle's uncle is my uncle's ankle. It's true! My Server Mods: Runecraft SMP Server Mod - java class replacer for SMP which adds magic runes. Llamacraft SMP Server Mod - bucket fix, lava nerf, etc.
@ngmatt8652 - This mod is all in java; it will work on any system that you can run a minecraft server off of. You might need a bit of command line fu, but that's all in the install section on the first page of this thread.
Managed to sneak a new rune in anyway, but now my website is messing up and won't let me change the download links, so you'll have to download it from trunk or wait for ILiedAboutTheCake to fix the SQL. EDIT: fixed it myself, knowing php is useful
What I added to this release:

What zeerix added:
- Phantom Torch re-implemented
- Multiworld support (bukkit)
- Meta-data support for WP/TP signatures
Some notes on the rune-- for some reason bukkit and vanilla have different ways of handling the instructions I give in the rune, so there are some unintentional differences regarding the specifics, timing, etc. It's not the most consistent rune, but it's certainly useful. There's a very useful application of this rune that I hope people find, I'll let you know if you're using it right after you get the chance to play around with it.
See the download page for downloads (derp)

so its a nice rune and all, except...
when i used it ive now become invulnerable to everything. im pushing a zombie around and acreeper just exploded on me and only did a half heart of damage....and its long since worn off. the only thing i did different would maybe be that i had chain mail armor and i took it off after it wore off to test if it was still working or w/e...but that shouldn't effect anything huh?
EDIT: Ok so it just took like 7 minutes in vanilla to go away AFTER it said so.
Amazing mod :biggrin.gif: so pleased its been updated to 1.5 xD
But, i uploaded the new jar into my server plugins folder and restarted it, but i noticed there isnt a disabled-runes.txt file. Is this a bug? Its not to much of a bother as diamond is so hard to come by in huge quantities, but i'd prefer to be able to disable the faith rune, i dont think i need to explain why :tongue.gif:
Any advice is appreciated :biggrin.gif:
Midget.
Some people miss it-- it's in your server root with the bukkit jar, not in the plugins folder. It also doesn't generate until someone joins the server.

Which do I download on for a mac?
If you're using bukkit, download the bukkit version, if you're not, download the vanilla version. There is no special download for mac.
EDIT: And about the thing mentioned in the spoiler--
I have no idea why it does that. I think it has something to do with the actual amount of damage recieved. It works perfectly in bukkit, but in vanilla it has trouble wearing off. I only tested it in lava and for me the delay wasn't bad enough to warrant a removal of the rune. I'll keep looking for fixes though.

stupid question i'm sure, i know you said that runecraft supports multiworld for bukkit, but is there a config file it saves? reason i ask is i have some worlds that are free for all's and i allow runes, but i have a pure survival world i don't want people to be able to teleport around on or build powerpicks etc but currently no way to disable is there?
EDIT: And about the thing mentioned in the spoiler--
Yeah i had jumped in lava and was burning without taking damage so i thought that was very useful. however do you think it has something to do with whether or not you're wearing armor? since armor is kind of a multiplier already, it may be multiplying the time longer than its supposed to last or maybe it has to take a certain amount of damage to override (as in the rune is kinda like another armor that needs breaking before it goes away). no idea just throwing out suggestions to check. I would check on the no armor thing now but i gotta run...ill help with some more testing later :biggrin.gif:
Dunno if it's just me but the phantom torches still don't worm on my server. The new endurance rune works however. Any idea why it might not be working? Really been looking forward to the torch rune.

Hoping to add a disabled-runes feature for that-- "disable world Survival", for example. I was also considering a feature where a specific ink would be required to link a teleporter between two specific worlds-- i.e. "enable multiworld ink Main Nether" then "multiworld ink Main Nether 49" would require links from the main world to the nether world to be made of obsidian.

probably a stupid question, but how does one establish a second world to go to and between? specifically I have been trying to implement a portal to the nether or a teleporter to the nether and still have no idea how to. help?

What I look forward too even more though is when the school system is added, magic schools would work very well on my RP server.
