MapDeleter / Pine Tree Generator is a Minecraft Save editor. I designed this project for a few friends who wanted more diverse trees and the ability to delete previous areas so we wouldn't have to travel as far for each update.
The Key features of this project are:
Delete Chunks
Copy and Paste Chunks (Works between worlds)
Generate Large Pine Trees
Also I added a Topography view to the map and also block select so you can select certain blocks instead of the whole chunk. It only works with generating trees and the terraforming since I didn't really feel like taking on the puzzle of copying certain blocks and I really really didn't want to take on the puzzle of deleting only certain blocks and regenerating them.
Another awesome feature that Touriste added is opening right up to the world directory so you don't have to navigate to it yourself AND automatic backups!!
-------
I'm going to halt development of this tool since there are better save editors available, but I thought I would still upload this since I haven't seen a tool generate trees. There are however a few issues with the trees liking to shed their leaves.
Also, this is a use at your own risk program. Please make sure you make a back up of your world before editing anything. If you make a dense forest your world may not load and run properly due to the light needing to be rendered. It is possible for your world to crash.
MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR SAVE BEFORE USING THIS PROGRAM.
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENS
Edit: If you're experiencing slowdowns, crashes, or black screens when near a dense forest. Try lowering your view distance to normal and graphics settings to fast.
Edit: Also Pine Trees will only be planted on top of grass or dirt. So if you want a nice clearing, place a bunch of sand or blocks where you want your clearing to be the plant trees around it.
Special Thanks to Satanael who helped designing the trees and giving me ideas how to design the back end of the program. Also to Murfle who made the splash image. Also I must thank Touriste again for his terrific work on the folder location and backups! Also for being a general person who is helping people trouble shoot this program.
I Used this tool to make myself a ring of forest and set it on very dense.
i saved the map and all, but now when i try to play it it loads my inventory but not the terrain, then crashes before i can move.

If you want to incorporate any part of my program into a program you're developing I'll be more than happy help you modify it to fit your needs.
Ah, so this one was the one I forgot I was saving 666 for.
Hope I don't curse this project =3
Offtopic: Guy above me has 666 posts...
Windows XP I think it's C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\ApplicationData\.minecraft\saves
Seriously, tommorow (getting late) I'm downloading this.
Reminds me of here (Ontario(It does NOT snow in Canada year round, for the retards in the group)).
it also makes for really spooky forests at night!
Hey C4C3. I wish I could use it on a Mac :sad.gif:
Reminds me of a LotR type of forest
You don't get out much, do you?
Love the idea behind this. A map chunk deleter is enormously useful.

help?
...You can, I've used it quite a few times today to add trees and delete chunks on my macbook.
