I found a bad trick for mcedit 1; if you load/render the world from bird view mcedit still can load it. After its loaded you can go back to the normal view and work; but for somereason mcedit does want to load each chunk anymore.....
Well this way you can use is a bit at least but you need a lot more time. If there is something similar to mcedit it migth be the better tool now.
Not sure but I think the chuncks were players have been since the update are not able to load anymore. I just figured out that I cannot load any chunck with a city where I have worked the last days since update. Mcedit needs an update; else it is not useable for 1.13. Is there really no other similar tool or a possibility that we just need to wait a longer time for an update?
Here is a link where you can see the mess on my world. You can see very good where I worked the last days and where not. Esspecially the place of most bigger vity are easy to find; also the places where I need mcedit most times forexample to add houses from other minecraft worlds....
Minecraft 1.12 to 1.13 is a huge transition as they changed how the world is stored greatly. It will take a lot of time for tools like MCEDIT to be changed to work with 1.13 worlds.

Though MCEdit is dead, apparently, so no one's gonna bother updating a dead program.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
If this is ture (and it seems trustfully) it would be the best message for month about mcedit. If they need 2 or 3 month - ok I can wait even when I just started to play more minecraft last times.
The bad thing is that there is no substitute for McEdit. There are no other programs which have similar possibilities. Basically, you can no longer make a large Minecraft project without having to work hard on the game file. For example, WorldEdit - which is a no go for free for all server worlds. Earlier I built often smaler solo projects and later we imported them with McEdit. Now I cannot do that anymore and there is no other way. I just hope there will be a fix for mcedit.
Because 32x32x32 is very bad when you want to copy larger things. For example I build a huge city over three years in surival. Its about 900x190x700. This with structure blocks? Even most of my buildings like my aoe2 wonder or other things cannot be saved with less than 30 structure blocks. Also I cannot change a biom without mcedit. On my rp world I now have a big problem with a huge warm ocean in middle of a snow desert. I cannot terraform this chunks. I cannot delet them and regenerate them with an old server and I cannot fix the biom. Without McEdit I cannot work anymore.
Another example where I miss McEdit very much - the creat a shop filter.
Yes you can creat own villagers by command but first the developers changes the codescrips very often and you cannot give them special stuff. For example on my RP World is equiptment with enchantments to buy. Creating a copy of this items is very anoying if you do that in script form instead of just copy it in game. Also I needed to use encahntments that are not allowed by minecraft normally to get even worse or better stuff like enchanted horse armour. I can creat them for example with invedit (even when this program is very old) but not by commandscript.
For everyone like me this should sounds well. It shows that people are going to solve it. McEdit is not dead (yet); but do not expect an update before halloween; maybe even (a lot) latter.
Hello all, I'm here as the McEdit does not work and I thank it is on my end. I'm using the new McEdit 2.0 beta 14. I have add an attachment of a screen shoot of the error message.
God damn it, we really need this patch. Without it, mapmaking will suffer severely - even though we just had an update intended to optimize and improve mapmaking. I'd rather The Flattening didn't kill mapmaking, y'all.

So I was working on this really cool resource pack a while ago, but bad progress nonwithstanding, I think I found something much better... I'm probably gonna never release another custom Minecraft map.Until we meet again...
Read my posts above. There is a small team working on it, but they will need time; a lot maybe because the team is not big and the people behind them have a real life, too. Last but not least the 1.13 changes are very hard and a lot of work (e. g. World Painter or other tools needing a lot of time and McEdit has a lot of function). Do not expect anything in this year.
For those who haven't heart yet; there will not come a McEdit for 1.13; the team has moved on to a new editor called "amulet-editor". This project is still at first steps and no - there is no test version so far and it could need much time before it starts. See there webside for mor infos:

I love MC Edit but after hearing it may be dead. is so sad.
It is good information!! Thanks

@misterich Use Structure blocks! Or why not use them?

All versions of MCedit currently does not support Java 1.13 If you are using 1.12 or lower instead, pardon me.
So, any update on using any version of MCedit on 1.13? Is anyone working on any of these projects? (1, 2, and unified)

What can I do?
