I'm brutally lost in trying to use MCEdit 2.0 (the latest dev version available). When I try to load any of the worlds, all of the mod items are ignored. I can't get it to show me Forge. under "Minecraft Install," the only option is "Default." Under Version, it only lists 1.10.2 and 1.7.10; it's not showing Forge 1.7.10, which is what I'm using. I've gone so far as to uninstall and reinstall Forge entirely, from the ground up, twice. For the life of me I can't get this to recognize Forge. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

I personally did not know it would (or is supposed to) Detect forge installs, does that mean if you use it with a modpack install it SHOULD load in all the modded blocks and such?
It takes so long because your computer specs arenot good, MCedit needs a strong PC to run, I have AMD A8 quad core 16gb RAM and it takes a while for it to load and save for me too.
It runs poorly on my machine with an amd 8370, 16 GB ram, and an r9-290x and on an ssd. A machine that runs GTA V on ultra shouldn't have an issue but does.
I presume those were places that used to have light? depending on the version of MC (NOT the editor) there MIGHT be a command to reset the light levels but i'm not sure.
I used to use MCEdit ages ago. Now I download it again to try to edit one of my MCPE worlds and it's giving me all sorts of errors.
Right off the bat, it tells me that it failed to download Minecraft from the official servers. What? Why would it try to do that?
Next, I go to open my world and it tells me that
'NoneType' object has no attribute 'seek'
The full error report is below. What can I do to fix this?
An error occurred while opening C:/Documents and Settings/Adam/My Documents/MCPE Worlds/PFkeAMepAQA=/level.dat

So, have a new release of mcedit 1, 1,5.4.0. This release's biggest feature is it fixes video card compatibility with pretty much anything in existence (Tested with a 16mb TNT2) meaning all of you having problems running mcedit 1 under Windows 10 should be fine now. Note though although it will run, keep in mind performance is still roughly where it was before. Thanks to CW for providing input with this.
As for the pocket lighting issues, we are aware but our MCPE dev hasn't been around, so there is little we can do about it. Can't help with the mcedit 2 stuff sorry :/. Raptor, Lighting bugs for regular worlds can be fixed by just placing torches, but if you can figure out what block is causing it it's an easy fix.
Anyway, download can be found Here, and release notes are as follows:

Can please somebody explain to me how to delete chunks with the new MCEdit?
I have a bunch of chunk errors and I just can't figure out how I can select entire chunks in the new MCEdit.
It would be even better if I could copy a few chunks and then put them in the place of others, because they don't seem randomly replaced, but rather mixed up or moved. Like "the piece that used to be here, is now over there and that piece from there is now in a third place".
Or can anybody reccommend another easy tool to fix chunk corruption?
Is there a way to edit, find and replace commands in all command block (Minecraft 1.9+ command blocks) in selection in McEdit?
MCEdit 2.0 will have a way to replace text in commands according to a regex pattern and other criteria, but that feature is still in development. For now, you can do kind of the same thing by using the NBT find-and-replace: Set "Search TileEntities" to "Control" and "Find Tag Name" to "Command"

Hi, I'd be glad if someone could help me with my little McEdit problem...
When I try to run the app, the McEdit window opens, the splash image shows up and then it closes.
I had two different error messages showing up and in both of them was: "terrain.png is missing". I tried looking for it in the folders and couldn't find it. I also have an empty textures folder, which isn't in the mcedit folder where's everything else.
I download the program once more, with the same result - empty textures folder and same errors.
So I remember in the first MC edit you could do chunk view. Am I missing something in MC edit 2? I can't see a chunk view button anywhere, and I REALLY don't want to have to fly through this massive world I have going. Any help?
EDIT: Found it, I'd delete my comment, but you know, Minecraft forum features suck. For others wondering the same thing, at the top left of your view of the map, it says 2D, over, and cam. Click "over" and you have a top down view of chunks.

I did for author much hurt... I just wanted to suggest fix for brush (size % 2). Not just hack.

Hello,
Is there a way to edit, find and replace commands in all command block (Minecraft 1.9+ command blocks) in selection in McEdit?
Thanks you.
I found McEdit 2.0 with new features and try to use it.

"We will absolutely not keep in mind what external mapeditors will have to do to read data from the disk, that makes no sense whatsoever." - Grum
Thanks you very much for your tips.
Downloaded it.
Opens my maps like it should.
PROBLEM-----
It opens all maps in read only mode so i can't save squat after importing my structures.
Checked thier website.
You gotta be some kind of programming guru to add some calls to the plugins to remove the read only.
All in all, MCEdit is a terrible program for people who are not accustomed to configuring plugins and adding calls and such.
SOLUTION ---
Copy your saved game or server world to a backup folder.
Reopen game and open your world to LAN.
Enable cheats.
Once in game hit forward slash and enter the next line.
gamemode 1 (yournamehere without perenthisis)
hit enter.
place any block 1 block below the level the of your structure.
change it to a dectect block and name it whatever.
place a second block 1 block above your structure on the opposite corner.
export.
poof.
no need for any fancy 3rd party programs.
I didnt include the commands because they are diffrent depending on yoru system and version of MC you're using.

Downloading the terrain.png from github and putting it in the mcedit folder helped. Thanks
Edit: Yeah, my answer to all of those questions were yes.
