Looks awesome, I can't wait for a public release. meanwhile, would you be so kind to throw the good ol' Quatroworld map through your generator? Its 100% non-hack!
Simply amazing, was that .gif created with the app, or a bunch of slices put together elsewhere?
(if not created with app, make it able to :biggrin.gif:)
I just had it export an image every layer, then just edited it for the internet.
I'll see what I can do to export it as a gif. I'm re-writing the thing into java to make it faster, but since I dunno much java I dunno if I can do animated gifs.
Edit: And when the program is complete, I hope to host a server where I set the program to do a time-lapse of it. Any suggestions for a 128*128*64 map for use with nohacks?
I'll do the others when (if?) I finish the java version. Takes too long now.
This looks great, can't wait for the others. This'd make a great tool to preview maps, is it possible to embed it on a page and use a parameter to define the .dat/.mine file? This way, we could consider making a map library with your tool making previews!
So I pretty much got a working java version -- runs 100 much faster and gives support for PNG tilesets. Still got to make it more efficient though.
I will look into splitting up the map into several images to allow for high quality textures. I don't really care for displaying the map inside the app (I'll probably write another script that lets you move around your level).

Please allow for some sort of zoom function, if you're going to make this a map maker.
Whale of a Tale!
Guess that answers that question right there.

Have a go at them, especially the city level! These are mostly experimental and generated by myself.
I'm going to post a couple import/export scripts for my voxel editor, do you mind if I include one or a couple of these as examples?

City. That bug moved the row over again. Need to fix it.

Go for it, just add a line saying "example maps provided by Quatroking" or something similliar.

4*4 for 512*512*512 blocks is the best I can do. I can get 28*28 high quality blocks on 128*128*64 and under due to memory problems.
Dunno if this could be made a map viewer. Will see when done.
Use LoQ on the preview when viewing a full map.
It's doable.
