I'm looking to add more functions to it and perhaps a user interface.
Suggestions?
Subways. Definitely subways. Also, and this is very very very maybe, since I dont have a clue how this works, decide what kind of buildings you want, and where - approximately - and then the generator works from there.
Like, in *that* part of the city, you may want skyscrapers, and in *that* part you want slum. That sort of thing.
Really, I don't know if that is possible, and I'm of course not demanding anything. Just suggesting.
It has sewers, but no subways. They should be easy to add though. :wink.gif:
It could be possible to do that. I'll have to rewrite the code into a language that has a better UI function than C++ though.
It would be very awesome. If not, and I'm not criticising - it will turn out wonderfull however you do it - there would be little variation between maps generated by this. Introduce choice of where what should be, and suddenly no two maps would be alike.
I am looking forward to seeing this finished. It looks simply... Awesome!
but why you need subways?
i would prefer a ancient temple theme you can choose :tongue.gif:
City = People
People = Travelling
City travelling = Collective travelling
Collective travelling = Trains
City = Above surface
Trains = Underground
Underground = Subway
I'm thinking about moving to C# so I can make a nifty GUI front end.
It's in c/c++ right now, it wouldn't take long to rewrite it.
The alternative is also to learn java again, but that will delay it slightly, but make it more compatible and extensible.
If you move to C# check out my level loader/saver, it can save you some time and is fully compatible with java serialization (that version is outdated and doesn't have the new blocks but I'll post an update if you want).
WTF, man
Nope, and parthon disappeared....
...What??
When did this happen>?
When we weren't looking.
Whale of a Tale!
I though someone else was working on a semi-procedural level editor.

keep it up
Contains Pachebel's Canon made with noteblocks, a working Rubik's cube made with pistons, and the ultimate TNT cannon.

I hope this cleared that up.

Script to edit Minecraft maps with Paint3D
or could you generate a new map?
I know your pain :sad.gif: I really want to use this to save HOURS of city building.
(My works: Art, Music, MINECRAFT and other stuff)
I think more people here know python than java.
Quality of output = Skill * Effort
I don't really care how many people can program in what language it's in if the interface is nice, clean and easily extensible.
I think I'll use C# with Atomic's saver/loader. I'm familiar with that.
