Get in on the ground floor of something 1.9-1.10 has needed for quite awhile.
Greetings, modders. I am JackalopeHero (or jackalope2001 on MC Forums). I have recently begun a mod project, and I need some extra coding expertise. What is the mod about, you might ask? What will it do? Here is some basic information (more details will be released soon)
The Warrior
"The Warrior is a 1.9-1.10 WIP mod that will add in more shield types, much needed weapons (spears, daggers, etc...), maybe more armor, and some structure generation."
I can't do the entire project myself due to school, sports, etc..., so I need to balance the weight of this project a little. I have a lot of the textures made and a lot of ideas (both written and in my head). I have done a little modding in the past, but nothing for 1.9. Anyone who's made a mod using Java (not MCreator) is welcome to help me out and I'd love the assistance.
The mod won't probably be that heavy since it mainly just adds in items. However, these items will use their own stats, making things more complicated than just plopping them in. Here's what I'm thinking:
Here are the planned weapon types:
Melee Weapons:
-Daggers: less reach, but faster combat regen(-1 block reach, 2.0 attack speed) -Spears: more reach, but slow combat regen, -1 damage per level than sword, and possibly throwable?(+1 block reach, 0.8 attack speed) -Halberd: more reach, but slow combat regen, shield stun attack (like axes)(+0.5 block reach, 0.8 attack speed) -Battleaxe: standard reach, but slow combat regen, shield stun attack (like axes), more damage from falling blow(standard blow reach, 0.8 attack speed, 25% more damage when falling on target) -Broadsword: more reach, medium combat regen, sweep attack (like sword), maybe lunge attack?(+0.25 block reach, 1.0 attack speed) -Mace: knockback, chance of slowing target, but slow combat regen, -1 damage per level than sword.(standard block reach, 0.9 attack speed, % chance of stunning target depending on level)
Ranged Weapons:
-Longbow: slower draw speed, larger range, +1 more damage
-Crossbow: drawing crossbow loads arrow so it's ready to fire when needed
(draw speed: same as bow)
-Mage Staffs: shoots various spells depending on staff focus. can be used for lighting things on fire and various other things. consumes mana
(draw speed: same as bow)
-Flintlock?
(no stats yet, will most likely not be implemented)
-Shotgun?
(no stats yet, will most likely not be implemented)
Shield Types (1.9 Tower Shield as base):
-Tower Shields: already in Minecraft
(All shields below come in all variants: Wood, Iron, Gold, and Diamond)
-Round Shields: faster movement speed when deployed, no resistance to arrows, only melee, cannot be decorated with banner, only dyed like leather
(+50% faster movement speed when deployed than Tower Shield)
-Heater Shields: faster movement speed when deployed, less durability
(+25% faster movement speed when deployed than Tower Shield, -25% less durability)
-Targe Shields: no movement inhibition when deployed, hold and release for a lunge attack (lunging damages item)
(+100% faster movement speed when deployed than Tower Shield, -50% less durability, bashing enemy with shield damages enemy?)
That is the list so far. There may be more implemented or removed.
I realize that this may look like Battlegear 2: Mine and Blade, but it's not. Battlegear 2 probably won't be released in 1.9 anyway. Besides, these are my stats that I came up with myself.
Anyhoo, that out of the way, I would like to enlist the help of anyone who's made a half-decent Minecraft mod using Java. Seriously, I'll welcome any help I get. I can handle all the textures, models, music, and schematics, but I'm gonna need some help coding. Oh, and one more thing, you will get full credit.
By the time this is finished, I might not even have my name on this project. I just wanna make a fun mod and something I personally think MC 1.9 needs, I don't care if I get the credit or not .
