No, I don't think there is a way to change the damage of the abilities.

Hey everyone!
I know it's been a while, but I'm going to try doing weekly updates again. It's the 59th "weekly" update!
I have some good news and some bad news.
Let's start with the bad news and get that out of the way first. Crows has decided to stop developing the mod and pursue other things in life, leaving the mod to me. However.
Mahtaran has offered to help develop the project, and as he has a lot of experience, he will become the next lead developer of the mod, once Mist (the admin of PK) approves his application. This will mean there will be a temporary halt in development as Mahtaran is taught everything he needs to know to continue development. Development is coming along nicely! I've been working on fixing some bugs, and trying to get prototypes of some avatar abilities done (I'll show photos once they mostly work). Concept design for the skill tree is coming together, and I'm working on how to add a HUD for the mod. The build competition finishes on the 28th, so be sure to submit all your builds!!!! The person who wins will be working closely with me and Mahtaran to finalize the build and prepare it for structure generation, as well as working on recommendations for textures and blocks. I know this is my first weekly update in a while; sorry about that. Crows leaving, finals, and assignments really made me demotivated. Hopefully I'll be getting back into the mod!
Also: please answer the poll below on what bending system you like!
If you think that neither the plugin or the mod's system is good, please write out your suggestion on MCF, discord, or the Project Korra forums! http://www.strawpoll.me/15144310
Hope you all have had a great February, and continue to do so!
So is this mod still alive? Also, is plantbending and lavabending still being developed? I have a few suggestions.
Lavabending:
1. Lava shuriken: create a spinning blade of lava hovering in front of the crosshair and follows the mouse's movements doing damage. Right click launches it forward.
2. Lava wave: sends a wave of lava forward in a cone.
3. Lava pool: creates a circular pool of lava around the player that wards off enimes.
Plantbending:
1. Plant whip: a plant tendril whips out damaging nearby entities.
2. Plant trap: traps nearby entities in roots trapping them in place.
3. Plant bomb: shoots a ball of plants that lashes out at enemies.
Now this is truly gonna look amazing. I personally cannot wait for blood-bending, as well as possibly allowing some bending styles to combine attacks for extremely devastating combos. Imagine an earth bender and fire bender combo. Sure, secondary bending styles can accomplish this, but combos can make it even deadlier.

You're using lightning spear, correct?
For now, just try moving them completely into a solid block. Mahtaran and I will try to get a fix out next week!
Also, you should be able to remove them by doing /kill.

What key should you have to press before using the mouse wheel to cycle through your elements?
Vote now! Don't be like the US voter population in 2016! https://www.strawpoll.me/15320663/r
I'm gonna be gone on a trip to China from Thursday until Monday (not next week, but the week after)
I'll give everyone an update when I get back!
First off, I absolutely love this mod and the direction it is heading; however, I think waterbending could be helped greatly if 1) you could put water whips back in a waterskin and 2) be able to use water bubble with the infinite water perk without targetting water, but it needs to be channeled for 5-10 seconds to prevent spamming. 1 is more important in my opinion but 2 would help make water bubble more helpful. Also, not sure if this has been reported but you can't bend using a waterskin if it is in your offhand. Again, absolutely love this mod and I am excited to watch it develop!
Edit: Since I am already putting out my thoughts on waterbending, I decided to add another comment. I noticed water arms/octopus form on the spreadsheet and thought it could perhaps function a bit like this (I apologize ahead of time if it is a bit too complex for a single ability):
Left click to attack
Right click to cancel
Jump to enter water arms "mode" (WA)
Shift to enter octopus form (OF)
OF needs to be used in a water source (that will be consumed) to work at first level. It would use lots of chi to attack but make the bender immune to projectiles during attacks. This defensive state forces the user to be stands still though. When the ability is cancelled, water source is placed at the bender's feet.
WA gives the bender a larger reach than OF and the ability to move but deals less damage and doesn't offer projectile immunity. The bender gains jump boost and wall climb.
A possible ability synergy could be that if the bender is currently using water bubble, they do not have to be in water.
I've haven't been paying attention to development on this mod alot since Crows left. I have been revisiting it and been enjoying the mod.The mod has a good concept, but some things need to be updated and refurbished.
So waterbending is the most underrated but that is because it is too limited. You should be able to waterbend from a water source from much further away than a few blocks
Water Arc path 2 needs to be changed to something more useful than 2 seconds of it going in a straight line. I think the path should have it so water arc can cut through certain blocks like wood and can damage through armor. Also fire and water arc should dissipate upon hitting one entity because you can send enemies flying which is kind of OP for such a simple move.
For wave the model should grow bigger for every time it levels up. A wave exploding is silly and doesn't make sense nor fits the style of waterbending so path 1 wave could be it can go up to 10 blocks on land and for path 2 is the wave sends the entity more upward out of the water but still pushes them back. You should also be able to use wave on ice and in the rain.
Water Skate you should be able to go up currents at level 3 and path 1 should change to water skate on land for a short duration.

Ok, I'll take your ideas into consideration!
Can you make a trello card? Thanks!
Also- I'm keeping the radius, but making it so that waterbenders can use plants, ice, and snow.

Actually, I just made the card myself!
Water Arc
-Make it more like the Wizard of Legend water arc (shorter range, faster, mini aoe at ending strike)
-Less upward knockback
-Make it dissipate upon a hit
-Faster
Water Skate
-Skate on land for one of the path upgrades
-Make the level 3 upgrade allow you to skate on flowing water blocks
Wave
-Bigger after every level
-Use on ice and snow
-Removing exploding as a leveling feature (? I didn't think Crows or I added this)
General Waterbending
-Can bend from a general radius for all water moves that require water (water cannon, water bubble, e.t.c) after a certain level
-Use Ice, snow, plants, e.t.c
Any other recommendations??

Seems good to me. I added names for the two wave levels for the wave that goes on land is called high tide. And the wave that shoots enemies upward is Tidal Wave.
And I had an idea for to change Pick Block path 2(Large Impact) Into a move called Momentum where when the block of earth is thrown it has so much momentum it trucks through targets and will not stop until collided with another block or gravity.
And fire arc boomerang should be changed to fire trail where the fire arc leaves a trail of fire from the player to the direction its going. You know cause fire doesn't really come back to the bender like how water and earth do cause it isn't solid. It's like air having boomerang. Btw boomerang should come back at a max distance of 12 blocks after that it should be to far for the bender to use.
And for an alternate to water skate path 1 could be water push where in enity in radius of you while you are skating take damage and are pushed back.just in case water treading on land is going to be used for a different ability
Sorry if it seems like I'm suggesting a lot its just that some of the bending have to many similarities. This mod isn't as popular as it used to be.

It's fine!
Ok, I'll add those name changes as well!
Yeah, fire arc kinda needs a revamp as well.. I'll make cards for all elemental changes. (Also, I was thinking about adding an ability called Cyclone Boomerang in the future, just so you know.... lol)
I'll get those onto trello cards!!!
how to tame the flying bison

Yeah sorry- I wasn't able to give a weekly update this weekend! Too busy coding xD
No, they are not being worked on, but will be in the future. Here's a concept sheet of all future abilities:

I can't wait for plantbending, personally- Plant Ninja!!!!
Mahtaran is working on fixing bugs, and I'm slowly finishing an ability for the Avatar.

Yeah the plant bending abilities look awesome so do all the subcategories of earthbending. I'd love to whip people with a metal whip.
