This MOD looks amazing. I can't wait for it to be released, (I'm probably gonna have to). 1.7.10 is the best version. All the new animals have wonderful detail. I was wondering if you would do anything with the horses, donkeys and mules. So far they are only for riding and holding chests.
This isn't true. Some horses are for mustering cattle. Not so much sheep but mostly bovine. Mostly because cattle move at the same pace. I'm not an expert but I do believe that they are for more than riding.
Mules and donkeys are sometimes used on farms. Maybe they could be able to pull some sort of ploughing device that acts as a hoe.
I just feel that horses and the other equine are not doing much in vanilla Minecraft however in rl they are extremely useful. Not just for sporting events like dressage and racing. I do realise that this MOD is focused on bovine and other livestock. But seeing as how its still in development equine could be useful. So to could domestic dogs.
Like the Irish wolfhound was bred to hunt and track down wolves. I do realise you didn't intend on doing domesticated dogs but this would be very useful. I really would like it if you involved equine and domesticated dogs, but even if you don't, this MOD is still amazing and I can't wait for it to be released on 1.7.10
I know that this MOD is based on cows and sheep. But I think it would be amazing if you added stockhorses and working dogs. Also if you do decide to add horses, breeds, genders and gestation would make it amazing. I love this mod already, I do hope you can add horses or dogs but even if you can't this mod will still be stunning.
I like the idea. Just one suggestion though: For the Bison if you make a baby version can you make it orange? It would be true to an actual baby bison. Also the difference between a male and female bison is that a male has a darker head (pretty much black) whereas the female has a more brown head and the males have long beards. PS I live on a buffalo ranch
Is this mod ever gonna come out? Let alone updating for 1.10.2, the most used version so far. Or give me the damn models and I'll input them in my game if you only gave hopes to us.
Wow. This is so exciting!
Hopefully you've found all the help you need for this.
So happy you share the 1.7.10 vision, too. There is so many incredible pieces of the 1.7.10 realism / customization puzzle scattered across the internet and when you put them all together it truly becomes so much more than just a version number.
I am currently working on bringing together the best of the best realism based mods into a lively, well balanced lifelike earth exploration experience in Minecraft that explores civilization through the ages with real world geology, lifelike crafting and building materials, technology, transportation, economy and of course, farming and wildlife.
A big priority of mine is to represent as much realistic wildlife diversity as possible in the natural world and meticulously spawn and balance all animals in their proper habitats, in combination with dynamic temperate / climate and ambient sound enviroments to make every region of the world feel special and unique when you explore it. (I actually found this thread by searching Google for a Minecraft version of the Cape Buffalo for my African region, so I guess we share a vision for authentic wildlife in Minecraft haha
Your list of animals fills so many gaps, both for domestic livestock and exotics and they look incredible so far!
Can't wait for the alpha download to show up to start playing around with this. The farm designs people will create with this will be nothing less than epic.
And... I mean...just imagine this in combination with the exotic birds mod, and the best of other wildlife mods all together.
This community is truly amazing!
'The 1.7.10 vision'? What a close minded thing to say. There's PLENTY of great mods for newer releases. I'd even venture to say that 1.10 and 1.11 have better mods now than 1.7.10. Don't stay stuck in the past just because some of the older mods haven't moved on.
I think it's pretty safe to say that this mod is dead. Or rather, it never got off the ground to begin with. I've been watching this mod for quite a while, and all I see is promises that the programmer for this mod is slowly working on it, only for no progress to show for it. The current "coder" for this mod hasn't even been active here in two months, which leads me to believe that he also likely hasn't been actively working on the mod. But maybe I'm making too big of an assumption here, who knows.
That being said, I'm going to throw my quote down here again, with some adjustments.
So I've been watching this mod develop for a few months now, and I have to say that I was super interested in having actual livestock implemented into Minecraft. But I can't help but to notice you seem to be spinning your wheels a bit, which I feel like would be a safe bet to guess is in due part with your "coder" who doesn't seem to actually be around to do the code.
That being said, this mod is very similar to something I had been wanting to do for a long time. Unfortunately I never got around to making models and such for it due to my other mod taking up so much time. However if you would like to see this mod actually take off, I'd be tempted to make the code for it. I certainly don't mind bringing this mod to life, as long as you and whomever else are willing to do the models, as I don't really have the time to do the code AND the models.
Although..I do have a few conditions. The major one being the version it is made for. 1.7.10 is more or less a dead version now, and there is no point in making it for 1.7.10. There are also many major differences code-wise between 1.8.9 and 1.10.2, and so I would rather not downgrade to 1.8.9 either.
So if you are okay with this mod starting at 1.10.2, then I'd be happy to move up this mod's first release from...whenever your coder decides to actually do something, to having it released in the next few weeks.
Send me a message if you're interested,
--Cyan
I've been watching this mod from the beginning, because I love the idea of having a greater diversity of livestock in Minecraft. The only reason I haven't just straight up done a mod like this already is because I'm kind of stretched for time as-is, and don't really have the time to make so many models that this mod would require, along with making the models and programming Digimobs.
That being said, and since Matheus is seemingly also MIA, I would be tempted to just restart this project if some of the modellers that are attached to this project would like to help me out. I'll do all the programming and even have an initial release of the mod within a week. My only issue is time and making all the models. Doing models for two mods is just a little much for me.
But yeah. Want this mod out? Provide me the models, and I'll provide a finished (1.10.2) product. Not to be mean, but all of those still clamoring for 1.7.10 are a lost cause. Especially with 1.12 coming out soon, you all are way behind and like the person above me said, you need to stop holding on to those dead mods that aren't updating.
Anyway, enough of that tangent. If any of the modellers would like to see this mod happen, send me a message. If any other people want to see this happen and can make models, also send me a message.
the mod is not really dead, our coder is just kinda busy...
but i didn't give up working on the mod, I'm now working on parenting models for better animations, this animation is when the cattle is eating grass or is attacking...
(the cow is a sahiwal and the bull is a ayrshire)
(yes, the mod will still be for 1.7.10)
I like the idea. Just one suggestion though: For the Bison if you make a baby version can you make it orange? It would be true to an actual baby bison. Also the difference between a male and female bison is that a male has a darker head (pretty much black) whereas the female has a more brown head and the males have long beards. Not to sound overly hostile here, but I really don't believe you.
It's been nearly a year since you posted this topic, and I find it hard to believe that your coder has been "too busy" to release a beta version with a few of the mobs in it. Actually, I went ahead and checked the post history for Xtcent, and found him asking about how to render models in a different section about 3 months ago.
So again, not to be rude, but your "coder" doesn't appear to actually know how to or be doing any code, at least revolving models. The fact that he posted the teaser picture right after asking for help on rendering shows me that he hadn't done anything up until March. He's been the "coder" since August.
To explain more in depth why you won't find anyone willing to do a 1.7.10 version:
1.8.9 was a very transitional phase in the modding community. Long story short, Minecraft completely redid the way blocks and items are registered and rendered. Meaning, that no one wants to program a 1.7.10 mod knowing that when they eventually have to update it, that it will mean redoing a large majority of the mod. This is why it took so long for people to update past 1.7.10 in the first place.
I'm going to offer this one final time here, because I really would like to see this mod take off. If you would like to make/send models, I will gladly make a 1.10.2 version and have a beta version of it out in a very short amount of time. Your "coder" is not doing anything, and if you keep waiting on him to get "unbusy", this mod will never get off the ground. Entities/mobs are kind of my specialty, and I know what I'm doing. Your whole stubbornness on this issue is really tempting me to just bite the bullet and make my own regardless.
Again, I apologize if this came off as hostile. It's just really frustrating to see you waving "This mod isn't dead" to all of your fans when there is a large amount of evidence stating otherwise. You have a really good idea here, but I fear that your stubbornness is going to ensure that it never gets off the ground.
Guys, it doesn't matter about if you think it looks dead or if you are against it being 1.7.10. The mod is NOT dead because the creator said so, and it WILL be in 1.7.10 no matter what!
Sorry. I guess I need to go back and clarify myself. I'm not saying it's dead because people are questionably inactive for long periods of time. I'm saying it is "dead" because there is inaccurate information being released to the public. And you can see the evidence of that pretty clearly. I fully believe the modellers are working on all kinds of models, but there is absolutely 0 programming being done.
If you think otherwise, I would suggest that you are having a heavy dose of denial. Same for the stubborn stance on 1.7.10. That stance is killing the mod before it even gets life, because no one wants to make a mod for a version that is long out of date at this point. 1.8.9, 1.10.2, 1.11.2, and now 1.12 have been released. You all in 1.7.10 are now five major updates behind, and adamantly demanding this be made for 1.7.10 is only making whatever programmer that might eventually come along and make this mod have a really tedious job.
So just to be extremely clear. There's two reasons this mod is dead. And that is because there is no actual coding happening, and because the stubborn stance on 1.7.10. If you can't see how it is negatively impacting the development of this mod, I think you should take a step back and look at the timeline a little more clearly.
It's pretty clear that there are some people here that would rather have the mod never be released, than accept that perhaps they need to update and catch up with the rest of the community. And again, it's extremely upsetting to see such an interesting concept be brought down by it. But best of luck, I hope you all eventually prove me wrong.

Nope, the modder said he'd make it 1.7.10. There may be other versions, but he said he definitely would make it 1.7.10, as that is his favorite version.

Some of us CAN'T update, though. I can't because LOTR mod isn't updating past 1.7.10; the modder REFUSED. Unless the modder behind LOTR mod changes his mind, I won't be updating. I'm very sure that plenty of others also can't update for similar reasons. This and other reasons is why we refuse to update. Not to be rude, but I needed to put this out.

im friends with the creator of the mod and he said it 1.7.10 and im pretty sure he said 1.10.2 too
I'd love to play with this mod when it is finished. Is there a way I can follow its development?
Yeah same I would love to download this mod

When is the release this is too long or maybe the mod is dead ?
