UPDATE: The mod was removed from curse! I will try to fix the issue as soon as possible, while also taking more measures to make sure it doesn't happen again
Hello everyone, today I would like to announce a new mini-project I am working on called MODDL, or Mod Downloader. So far, I only have a small test build, but I think it is really cool.
Here is how it works now (will DEFINITELY change soon):
1. checks the config, and makes one if there isnt
2. looks to see if the user requests the mod itself to be force-updated or the mods in the repo to be force-updated
3. formats the config to work with the next startup
4. runs the specified tasks as defined from the config step
Things I am planning to add for the next test build:
1. more config options - COMPLETE!
2. a better way of managing the repositories - Working on it!
3. make it download mods ONLY when joining a server (if possible) - COMPLETE!
cant give screenshots because it has no gui (yet), just happens during the mod loading stages of forge, but here is the mod if you want to try it: (does not work at the time as a moderator removed it for security reasons, I will try to fix it though)
NOTE: my repository only downloads 1 mod at the time (+libs) of writing this - the ironchest mod - for test purposes to test it out on clients
NOTE 2: my repository is run at my own home, and I don't have the greatest internet, so if the file is not downloaded, try again (it may crash if it times out)(and will appear as a GUI dialogue box message in TD2).
NOTE 3: until i implement a gui tells you to restart, you need to restart a total of 2 times after first start for it to completely extract everything
1st startup : extract jsoup and setup base config, while getting latest version of mod itself when forge loads MODDL
1st restart: download all mods from the repository and get jsoup loaded by forge
2nd restart: forge loads these new mods with all other mods

5. pulls a list of mods from a specified server (ex. my server: http://opifex.ddns.net/MODDL/index.html)
6. take all links from the page and store them
7. downloads all mods specified with the links
8. names the mods with their link original text
9. moves the files into the mods folder
