Hello! Just found an issue with the coupling system. I'm trying to connect rolling stock, and whenever I left-click the couplers, it sends the messages:
[23:21:41] [Client thread/INFO]: [CHAT] Started coupling, front coupler selected
[23:21:41] [Client thread/INFO]: [CHAT] Releasing front coupler
[23:21:43] [Client thread/INFO]: [CHAT] Started coupling, rear coupler selected
[23:21:43] [Client thread/INFO]: [CHAT] Releasing rear coupler
These messages make it sound like it's activating and deactivating coupling mode immediately. This occurs with all rolling stock and locomotives. Sounds like the system is handing my attempt too quickly. Any help? I can post a picture if you need.
By the looks of it your double clicking the links... you should send some video example because I've never encounter this phenomenon...
Okay, so does anyone know where the latest (be it 3.1.0, or what-have-you) download is? and is everything in the 1.7.10 version still there in the 1.8.[??] version of the mod? Also, how do you add labels to the trains? And will there be a way to change the color of train cars? For example, make the coaches red, or black, or blue, or another shade of green? and the same with other train cars? I enjoy this mod a lot. Only problem I've been having with the version I have right now, is I'll load the world, and everything will be fine, then, as I'm playing/operating, a glitch or something will happen where the train will no longer follow the tracks... it goes forward, and backwards, in a straight line, ignoring the existence of the track. Which of course forces me to take up all the tracks, and relay them; as well as forces me to remove the gag blocks individually as well, because removing one block won't remove them all. I'm currently using the 5.3.2-D version. My game also tends to simply log out and close at random points in time, making it so I have to re-open minecraft, log back in, re-load the world, and continue, only for it to close again 5 or 6 minutes later. Initially, I installed the mod through tekkit, then installed the updated version through tekkit. Would this cause the crashing problem?
^^^^^ My version of ROW not being the culprit of an issue? Now that's a first.
Speaking of issues, version 5.3.3 is out. I've fixed the track system to work correctly on servers, so you shouldn't have any more problems with tracks not breaking completely, lag caused by carts, and kicks from the server due to packet errors. MeatBall_Sub, this should fix all the issues you've been encountering.
Another major fix is the coupling system. After four re-workings I've finally got it to a point where carts shouldn't run away from each other. This new system uses a delta-based algorithm that works much better on curves and gradients, which allows the carts to remain close together even on winding tracks.
The final fix in this update is actually a backrev, as I've reverted the code that makes the carts follow the track back to Naiten's original version. It's not quite my style, and there's a few more variables than I'd like, but it's a more accurate than what I've come up with. You should notice your trains hugging the track better now, as well as not wandering around turns. Dumboldoor5, this should fix your the platform block issue.
Next update will implement crafting for locomotives. After that, my work here will be complete.
@chezpaul2
That crash report doesn't mention ROW or ROWAM as causing problems. I did see a bunch of lines about a colourful portals mod and a kinetic genrator, so I'd look at those mods first.

@gazer29
What do you mean by conflicts?
Thanks man.
That's weird... those are the only two mods I changed so I didn't even try to understand it. It was a no brainer.
I guess I'll have to try it again.
Thanks

can somebody pls make a server for this mod maby together with
immersice engineering
rowam( so we can load trains and stuff like that )
and Real World Gen
that would be so cool
Working on it. I'm a TerraFirmaCraft junkie so I'm trying to fix the conflicts that break coupling between TFC and ROW, but it'll have IE and ROWAM if possible. Lots of other things, too...
- Is there any way to modify the speed of the engines?
- Is there any way to increase the range of the howitzer?
No and no. I have my reasons, though.
The reason the engine's don't go fast is to prevent them from running away from the player. As it stands, the OV at full throttle is just a hair slower than a flying player. If I make it faster, then the engine could get to a position where the player couldn't catch it. I'll see about adding a config value for speeds in the next update, so stay tuned.
The range of the howitzer is actually defined be Naiten's code and specs. I'm reluctant to make the range longer, as it's unlimited ammo and cannon-capabilities make it more of a dangerous toy than a functional weapon.
Welp, the reason the howitzer was disabled is that the projectile can't load chunks and increasing range of fire will cause problems on short rendering distance.

I'll get some video recording software. I'm single-clicking the links, but the game is recognizing otherwise. May be another mod's fault.
Hmm that could be true. Although do you know what mods would cause that? Seems a bit strange...
Found out that TerraFirmaCraft is causing the conflict. Working on resolving it.

May I ask where to get the 5.3.3 version of ROW?
Wow. Thanks for updating ROW.
So I went from RoW-1.7.10-15.01.18-2 and ROWAM-1.7.10-6.0.5 to Rails of War-1.7.10-5.3.3-D and ROWAM-1.7.10-7.2.0
And my server won't boot up no more. http://pastebin.com/PqBBJEVp
This is my setup: http://pastebin.com/BM744bSA
Thanks

Hey, so is that crashing bug with railcraft the original had out of this one?
/www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/wip-mods/2816702-tales-of-skyrim-bringing-skyrim-to-minecraft"" target="" data-ensure-absolute>
it's from this one
it's because he didn't remove the tracks of the previous ROW version before updating
What version are you using? That crash shouldn't happen anymore.
@i_like_industrial_stuff
What crash do you mean? I wasn't aware that there was any issue with Railcraft.
5.3.3-D is the latest, right? That one. If it matters, it seems I have short window where I can place and remove rails when I first enter the world.
Working on it. I'm a TerraFirmaCraft junkie so I'm trying to fix the conflicts that break coupling between TFC and ROW, but it'll have IE and ROWAM if possible. Lots of other things, too...
