I have a suggestion that'd be useful for late game survival and for mapmaking, involving the light and dark crystals.
When you shoot a light crystal block with dark beam, it should become a dark crystal block. And vice versa. Light crystals should give off a redstone signal, while dark crystals should not. It originally did that, but I removed it because it made getting light crystals far too easy. However, shooting a light crystal with the dark beam DOES disable it, for a time.
This is for maps, so you can recreate Metroid Prime 2, And also for survival, so you can have an easier time making the light suit and other recipes involving light crystals without having to venture into the dark world for too long without light suit. Only just enough to spend time mining for light crystals to make light beam.
Also, I have to report a bug. Instead of actually reading out the text in the logbook, it just says the file path in black, near unreadable, text.
https://gyazo.com/dc9d443e10b92482be5e74868588fb54That's a fallback for missing text entries - the only supported language is "en_US", and for some reason you are on "en_us" (it's case sensitive). You need to fix that youself, I can't do it.
I'd appreciate it if you made a bug fix update to 1.7.10 before moving on to 1.10, mostly because 1.7 has my favorite versions for most mods. Including Tinkers Construct. TiC 2 has a lot of cool features, but it feels unsatisfying not having a BEST material to work towards because of the "all materials are viable" thing... I currently have no plans to halt 1.7.10 production. IF/WHEN I create a 1.10.2 version, it will be developed ALONGSIDE the 1.7.10 version.
Also, something I did NOT realize at first and was just thankful that I had keepinventory on when I did... Is that you get trapped in the dark world if you don't bring a power core in with you, because you can't make light beam. All the materials needed to create a light beam upgrade can be found on Dark Aether. In fact, you could do a Dark Aether survival if you wanted to - all you would need is a food source.
Chozo Ore doesn't spawn, in Dark Aether, and you need a power core to craft Light Beam... So you are trapped if you go in without one...
Every single vanilla ore, and chozo ore, has a "dark" variant that generates on dark aether. Additionally, modded ores set to geerate on surface worlds will also generate on Dark Aether.
I can't get the achievement [I can take the heat] even though I upgraded to the varia suit. What should I do?
the fastest way to obtain an achievement you erroneously did not obtain, is to use the /achievement command. On singleplayer, you must either have enabled cheats on world creation, or start a LAN with cheats enabled. On multiplayer, you must have OP status.
It worked with /achievement give achievement.varia @p! Thank you very much!!
There's another little thing: all of the achievements which have relation to suit aren't given without commands.
I'm gonna show you commands that I used and worked just in case;-)
Gravity:/achievement give achievement.gravity @p
Phazon:/achievement give achievement.phazon @p
Dark:/achievement give achievement.dark @p
Light:/achievement give achievement.light @p
PED:/achievement give achievement.ped @p
Hazard:/achievement give achievement.hazard @p
Sorry about my poor English.
They USED to work, don't know why they didn't work for you UNLESS you didn't get the prerequisites, most likely the achievement for smelting chozo ore.
1.Me and my bro were thinking of if you made a metroid thaumbcraft mob known as a warped metroid would you add it or not.
2.there is a joypad mod for xbox 1 controlers I want to play it like that but i cant can you fix that and add buttens for the mod.
1. I don't even have normal metroids yet - my modeler seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth
2. Controller mods should be 100% compatible, since they only need modify the keybind class and their ticker. And if there IS a problem, I can't fix it without knowing the problem (logs).
Just wanted to say, with you dealing with the nightmares of the spiderball code and modelers dissapearing, that we the metroid fans really appreciate your hard work and the joy/gameplay possibilities, that this mod has brought to all of us over the last year. It has added a solid progression tree for me to go up and plenty of nice stuff to explore.
I do have one feature request that if implimentable would be cool. Chozo ore spawns naturally in the overworld, would it be possible to add a dimension id config for this? I have deeper caves mod (which adds layers below y=0) and already have alot of ores spawning naturtally in the overworld. If i could configure your mods ores to spawn in the lower levels (other dimensions) or atleast allow Metroid ores to spawn naturally on other dimensions in additon to the overworld,. that would be a welcome feature.

Life is only as restrictive as a person makes it, the possibilities, while not endless, are impossible to count.

I'm pretty sure chozo compound spawns in any SURFACE world - most modded dimensions are surface worlds. I'll check later. As for making it spawn below y=0 - I'll look into it.
What I mean is that when I try to switch beams with RS it doesn't work all it does is still move the camera instead of the courser. and the game says that there is no way to have a switch visor button on the joy-pad.
P.S I'm just asking would you call it "Warped Metroid"
To change Visors (And Beams) To access there HUD, you need to apply the C key (For Beams, Mine key) as a key on the joypad to make the visor (and beams) HUD to pop up. Hope you have an unused key or good luck.

I smelt chozo ore and get the achievement [Remnants of the Chozo] exactly.
Hmm... maybe I'm using older version unknowingly. Mine is version 0.3.27.0.
it's a PRREQUISITE. It has to be done BEFORE the other achievements can be given normally.

I don't know that any of the other mods I'm using do this, but I will look into that. Somewhere, one of them must I suppose.

do you have any plans on adding the charge and long beams as upgrades rather than being automatically enabled?
charge beam possibly, long beam no.
