Hey. I feel like as of 1.12.2, the shields will make some of these bosses way too easy. Have you ever considered implementing some form of stamina and/or system where a % of damage still hurts through shields and/or a system where you can't block indefinitely?
Short answer...yes
Long answer
The way I see it, if an attack is a projectile or beam or something that is without question coming from a certain direction, it has the option to be blocked. It is is an AoE, like Paragons jump shockwave, or a Sparks damage pulse, those are more likely to not be blockable.
I have only just started to work on updating a version to 1.12, that is a long ways off and the 1.8 version will still be released first. But I am keeping blocking mechanics in mind.
That's fair enoigh. I also agree that if the damage is coming from a certain direction, it should be blockable, but not to minecrafts current extend. In my opinion either the player should still recieve a % off the damage dealt while blocking or the player should have a limited block time (or both). Especially with things like paragons flamethrower, tatters scythe throw or golems rock throw. These would still definitely hurt a lot even with blocking
I had to go back and update the shade howler animations that I had to the new system that I came up with for the Golem, so that took some time, but now that it is done I can move forward.
Here is the newest ability for the Shade Howler. He ....melts? I don't know what to call it really.

Far One of the most greatest mods in minecraft,by the way, can you add more non-boss mobs? like chests that will attack the player or sirens that will call for the player in the sea to drown them, that would be cool, i hope your mod gets it popularity

Sea mobs are definitely slated for work...at some time.

Shade Howler AI and basic animations are finished! Sound effects are still lacking. What do you guys think on the howl sound? Do you know where it is from?

So now I am going to be working on polish. lots and lots of polish. No new monsters will be added until the mod is officially released as version 1.0
I may add some animations and additional attacks for Tatters.
After the 1.0 release I will be working to
A ) Add more monsters and bosses
B ) update to 1.12
Once updated I will try my best to keep both versions up to date with the new monsters and bosses as they come. Most of the complicated stuff is all figured out, so once that is converted to 1.12 it shouldn't be too hard to keep both versions up to date.
If different minecraft versions are requested I will have to take a look into them. If I am feeling particularly masochistic I may look into an old 1.7 update. I know 1.7 is still very popular due to mods that never updated. However to backtrack to 1.7 would be a giant nightmare due to lack of support from the forge team.
Thank you to everyone & thank you to the people who did mod spotlights. I do love to see them and catch bugs or things I need to polish up. I do go on youtube and comment on most spotlights that I find, even if it isn't in English (youtube translated captions are hilarious)

The howl doesn't really fit - it sounds like some sort of jungle creature, at least to me. It should be deeper and lower pitched I think
