I know there a few other Destiny-themed mods around this site, but I haven't seen any that focus on the multiplayer side of Destiny. As a huge fan of the Crucible (despite its imbalances), I thought I'd try my hand at making a multiplayer-focused Destiny mod, starting by bringing over all my favorite gametypes and working towards building the Engram/loot system. I started off by making the Control gametype, which you can watch me play at the bottom of this post (I'm working on making it downloadable, but...coding's tough, yo). I'm hoping to have either Engram drops or Rift done by next week, so you check back here for more video updates!
Now, talking the philosophy behind the mod: I want to capture Destiny's awesome, loot-driven, Engram-powered economy of items, meaning that in there end there should be a lot of different weapons that do different things with different stats. Drops will (eventually) be a thing, as will an overall XP system that tracks how many points you've gotten per match and applies that to your weapon's traits. What I DONT want to focus on right now is making CrucibleCraft about guns: coding guns in Minecraft is hard as heck, and trying to make them feel as good as they do in Destiny is probably a nigh-impossible task. So I wanted to get first the loot-grind/multiplayer-mayhem feel, then, if people want it, figure out how to make awesome guns.
So there you have it! Check back next week for more about the mod (hopefully download will be soon!!!) and check below for a video of me walking through Control!
Looking good! Maybe you could make it so that instead of having to type getBack every time you die, it just becomes a fixed spawnpoint. Also, I'd put keepInventory true on as well.
This will be sooooo cool with a Destiny mod that adds guns!
Yeah I would love to collab with a mod that has guns...it ain't Destiny if it doesn't have a pulse rifle Getting the backend done first, of course, but it's a dream...

Big update incoming! ENGRAMS are working their way into the mod, and I now have a pretty functional Cryptarch as well. Kill mobs in PvE, then head back to the Cryptarch and turn them in for a sword with randomized stats and a Destiny-branded name. Check it out in action in the video below!
P.S. Working really really hard to get this mod sharable, so I can host in on a server or have people test it out. Keep your eyes peeled for something within the next week!

What I would recommend with regards to the guns, is use Flan's Mod. It seems to be easier to create for and it has a nice system to go off of. Since you are creating a custom drop system anyways, and since Flan's doesn't have a built-in drop system, instead requiring you to craft it, your mod and Flan's would go quite well together. Also, the mod looks good, I think the idea is a nice one and regardless of the Destiny theme could be very fun to use just to add an extra level of fun to Minecraft. Being a fan of Destiny as well I also like the Destiny theme, so... Nice job!

No problem, looks good! Also, if you're looking for a way to create characters and Destiny monsters, I recommend Custom NPCs. It works with most mods without their needing to do anything, and it definitely works with Flan's. You could include all three mods, as well as some Destiny skins for the NPCs, in a single download. I'd check with the mod's authors and definitely say that the Custom NPCs does not belong to you in some sort of disclaimer, but with regards to it all you'd have to do is get permission and gather some skins.
