This mod allows you to create networks which can transfer and process sensor data. Imagine Buildcraft gate conditions which can be used across an Applied Energystics-style networks. These were both a source of inspiration to build this mod.
You can for example read inputs like the items in an inventory into the network, use it inside an operator and write the new value to redstone output. Things you can read include redstone, inventories, fluid tanks, the world and more. There are different datatypes which can hold these values that can be read, and different operators can be performed dynamically on these values.
When more mods update to 1.8, integrations via the API will be done. It would for example be possible to fully automate the rod depths for your Big Reactor depending on how much energy you have stored. Or automatically trigger some new crafting jobs of iron helmets in your AE network when it starts raining. You could even regulate your power network to disable certain parts of your base when your energy levels are low.
Note that this is just a (possibly buggy) alpha preview, that is why there are no recipes yet, to discourage people to use this mod in their main world. The main goal of this release is to get some early feedback from the community on what they expect from this mod and to find some more testers.
Some of the features I plan on adding includes new datatypes (like collections), database-like persistence, an energy system, crafting recipes and a decent API to support integration with other mods.
Integrated Dynamics is a mod which requires you to build networks for complex automation and system integration.
It is a mix between bundled redstone, BuildCraft gates and Applied Energistics-style networks.
Use 'Readers' to import external values into the network using 'Variables'.
Different types of readers are used to capture the outside world.
Each reader has countless aspects to read properties.
Display the variable values on a display for debugging, or if you want to make things fancy.
Perform complex operations with the Logic Programmer on your variables to automate tasks.
When using variables inside such operations, place them inside a Variable Store to make them accessible to the network.
Hide your cables inside Facades to make your network blend in with the rest of the world.
